Back around 2001ish UGA and Arkansas were the finalists for a weirdo lineman named aaron scranton. His decision came down to NSD and he chose UGA. But to rub salt in the wound he still sent a LOI to arkansas. Only it wasn't filled out, it just had the word "No" written across it.

wrong player wrong school wrong position other than that it's 100% accurate

Bama has had eight running backs drafted since the 09 draft.

2- 1st rounders
3- 2nd rounders
2- 3rd rounders
1- 4th rounder

Bama has 3, possibly 4.

How are you defining "in the NFL". If you mean currently under contract, Bama currenty has 7 with at least 5 all but certain to make final rosters.

Mark Ingram
TJ Yeldon
Jalston Fowler
Derrick Henry
Kenyan Drake
Trent Richardson
Eddie Lacy

Edited to fix the mistake pointed out by Tuscaloosa. There are just so many Bama backs, I couldn't keep up with them all.

Seriously? Barry Sanders vies with Sweetness for title of best RB all-time. If you're only talking best college RBs by stats, you'd have a point. Sanders only had one great season before leaving OSU. Herschel Walker (who I assume your candidate would be) definitely tore things up from the time he first set foot on campus to the time he left.

we're talking college, at least I assumed so. In which case my point is perfectly valid.

How should we judge the title "RunningbackU?" By college performance, or NFL performance? Both?

Other than Cam Newton, I don't really care how former Auburn players perform in the NFL, although I do wish them luck.

Lately, Auburn has had:

Rudi Johnson
Carnell Williams
Ronnie Brown
Kenny Irons
Ben Tate
Mike Dyer
Tre Mason
Cam Artis-Payne
Peyton Barber
Jovon Robinson

Given the discussion, yeah, I should have gone with that. It was just the blanket statement of "best RB of all time" type deal that piqued me to respond. Plus, Sanders is easily one of my top 3 favorite football players ever, so I just jumped in with both feet.

Never heard of Scranton...but DeAngelo Williams did send a LOI to Houston Nutt with "NO" on it and it was very highly publicized here.

Exactly. That's why local Nashville codes did away with all confusion and defined "RunningbackU" by the excessiveness of the average tuition at a given college. Once again, y'all can thank Vanderbilt for coming up with a simple quantitative solution to your problems.

Does Arkansas have a single successful running back in the NFL? I honestly can't think of one

He should be a great addition for Gus. Don't think he's trolling just doesn't know or care about Arkansas.
