According to a report by The Tuscaloosa News’ Aaron Suttles, new Alabama OC Brian Daboll will make $1.2 million per season.

Although Daboll’s contract hasn’t been finalized yet, he earned a reported $100,000 in March. The University of Alabama’s Board of Trustees will formally approve the contract when it meets in the summer.

Daboll’s annual salary of $1.2 million falls in the middle between Lane Kiffin’s ($1.4 million) and Steve Sarkisian’s ($1 million) salary while serving in the same role at Alabama.

Seems high for someone with no college OC experience? Kiffin only started out at ~$600k and worked his way up. We'll be paying him close to $2M in a couple of years probably.

Will his salary was going to be that. I doubt he walked away with $1M for one game called.

I'm sure you'll be correct, just like you all were with Kiffin.

Can he handle running a modern college offense? I see where he's gone nearly 20 years without being involved in the college game.

If he's still around in a couple of years, it means he's worked out well, so he might be worth more. If he doesn't work out, he won't be there anyway. Werner is an analyst now, and will probably be QB coach in January (if not Weinke), and may be the next O.C. if Daboll doesn't work out.

I remember when you Einsteins said Kiffin would be a huge failure. Then you were wrong, and then you wanted to hire him, and then you wanted to hire Sarkisian, and then you had to settle for the Canadian dude.

Were you just as amazed that the best he could get prior to this hire was Applewhite/Nussmeier/McElwain/Kiffin?

I like Daboll's support staff.

What were the Patriots paying him ? Assistants in the Pros make very good money, so I'm sure Saban had to pay him at least twice what he was making.
