Gonna be a lot of punting daboll

It's possible that he might fail. Having to find a guy so quickly after Sarkisian left, when most guys that were going to had already taken other jobs, kind of put Saban in a bad situation. If he doesn't work out, then he won't last long, like Applewhite did not. The ex Ole Miss O.C. is on the staff now, and might or might not be the next O.C. if Daboll doesn't earn his pay.

Sark did a pretty good job of screwing Saban.

But it would be really hard to turn down an offer of O.C. of a Super Bowl contender, especially for a guy like Sarkisian that probably won't get an offer for as a head coach for a few years, until he can prove he's got drinking under control.

That was fired at NC State a couple of years ago.

In any event, it's a fact that LSU wanted first to hire Kiffin, and when it was apparent that Kiffin didn't want any part of it, they turned to Sarkisian, and when that failed, Canada was the third choice. Come to think of it, Orgeron was also a 3rd choice they settled on. It's a trend.

The timing sucked, forcing Nick to call Bill and snag one of his coaches + boosting the support staff with Weinke/Werner. There is a surplus of talent to work with, and a good bit of experience on the roster. The offense should be middling to good this season.

Can he handle running a modern college offense? I see where he's gone nearly 20 years without being involved in the college game.

Kiffin had never been an OC according to tRant. Or it was all Sarkisian and Chow at USC.

Well, at the time Saban had lost his mind. The game had passed him by, he couldn't evolve and was too stubborn to adjust to the a new innovative offensive scheme.

Kiffin was poison, his ego would clash with Saban, he'd poison the locker room and leave a dumpster fire in his wake. The whole damn Dynasty was set to crumble when Lane Kiffin hit the complex.

When are these clowns going to learn?

Former OC - current Head Coach at Florida
Former OC - current Head Coach at Florida St
Former DC - current Head Coach at Georgia
Former DC - current Head Coach at South Carolina
Former OC - current Head Coach at Houston
Former OC - current Head Coach at FAU
Former OC - current OC Atlanta Falcons
Former OC - current Head Coach Tennessee Titans
Former DB coach - current Head Coach at Michigan St
Former QB coach - current Head Coach Dallas Cowboys
Former DL coach - current Head Coach Atlanta Falcons

But yeah, this time he probably made a terrible hire.

I forgot to add, all these guys are overrated because they had so much talent to work with, but none of the players are actually any good because they are all busts in the NFL

Except Daboll has a horrific resume, while those others were young and inexperienced at the time.

You try putting up a productive offense in the NFL with this stellar list of quarterbacks running your offense

- Derek Anderson
- Brady Quinn
- Colt McCoy
- Chad Henne
- Matt Moore
- Matt Cassel

Newsflash, it doesn't happen.

Supposedly Saban was a failure in the NFL too.

LSU fans are always so salty. Ex-wife syndrome is alive and well in Lousiana.
