OP, I have one for you:

Truth: Texas A&M has poached two Power 5 coordinators the last two years.

Perception:

The perception from an outsider looking over the last month or so is that the aTm program as a whole is a mess.

If you focus solely on the QB situation, A&M responded great. The bigger issue is some of the other activity which gives the impression of instability. They can still fix that as long as they can control the message.

If you mean the AD situation, we upgraded significantly.

Eric Hyman did absolutely nothing over 3 and a half years. Not a fricking thing.

I think John Sharp having anything to do with football, even if it is a direct response to a bogus article, hurts A&M. The guy comes across as an uncool version of Rick Perry.

And that is really uncool.

I'd rather Chip Brown publicly and violently discredited than to not respond and allow idiots like him and those at ESPN who would parrot him to control the narrative.

This is the THIRD time in the last month that Brown has tried to insinuate a narrative about A&M and get it to become viral. To not respond would allow him and his ilk to succeed.

If you recall the hit piece that Paul Burka wrote about A&M in which he cited "an unnamed female cadet who is no longer a member of the Corps" about the whole "jizz jar" nonsense.

5 years later and that's still viral.

Cool is overrated. Sometimes right and wrong matters.

You may be right. It's a lose-lose, but Sharp actually looks like he wants to be part of the narrative.

The bottom line is that the qbs didn't work out, and most people realize that's the risk of recruiting great qbs back to back. Do you get more out of having Sharp arguably prolong it, or do you get more out of Sumlin looking like he's in charge and focused on the future?

Missing the point.

What Chip Brown did was borderline (and possibly not borderline) libel done deliberately during the recruiting dead period and national media started to propagate it. That has to be squashed.

I actually think you guys got that from me. All I know is that I said it to LSU fans a couple of times and the next thing I know is that A&M's running with it.

Oh and I hardly think that players leaving early for the NFL compare to players leaving for another school. Regardless, you can add Ricky Town to players we've gained and I'm sure we've gained far more then we've lost under Bielema.

If he does it again, you may see a defamation suit.

He directly implicated Sharp multiple times and accused the athletic department of financial malfeasance.
