Again, they are trying to grow the game. Didnt Purdue win the B1G? You dont think that has any pull at all?

Purdue may have bid on the site based on the stadium in Gary. Do we know that UK bid on it with the other park your mentioned or on the on campus one?

Lots of unknowns that you are assuming right now.

No one should be complaining about Purdue. They deserve it. The complaint should be with Miami.

You do not grow the game by sending a third regional to the state of Florida to a Miami team that does not deserve to host. Fifth place in the ACC and 36 wins should not be host material.

Not sure how they did it when Clemson was in their regional but when they hosted us in the Supers a couple years ago they actually moved the game to a Minor League park.

It had an overhaul in 2002.

Yet, still better then the majority of parks in the nation. Have you actually been to a game at the Cliff?

I stand corrected...but, the issue was lights at there stadium was inadequate...I recall Kenadall Rogers saying that Costal put lights up for hosting capabilities.

Then I'm to assume that Kentucky was given the idea that they host in Lexington by someone with the NCAA if they were already moving to set things up for it. That's not sending a very clear message that the stadium is an issue (precedent says smaller places have hosted too so it's a BS reason).

My fear is we get sent somewhere like Arizona. I have the sneaky suspicion we don't end up in Gary. But you're right about Louisville but I still would've rather been hosting because Kentucky earned it.

My complaint isn't with Purdue as a team. It's with the notion that UK doesn't host because of their stadium. Purdue will host in Gary. And Gary is about as shitty as it gets when it comes to a locale.

Belle, I can tell you for certain, UKAA felt confident they were getting to host. They had a team lined up to get the stadium set up and the seats were on stand by to be set up.

Like I said, my neighbor never got the call when I was with him last night...he said that he was getting the call any minute to start setting up and getting the field ready.

Oh well, I hope we get somewhere...avoid UL and make some damn noise. I know the players are pissed and feel disrespected.

What happened to UK's plans for a new stadium? Around 2006-07 they had plans together for a new stadium on the south end of the campus where the softball/soccer fields are.

But Gary has one of the nicest AAA stadium in the nation.

Here is the deal, if the NCAA wants to make this put regionals at sites with nice facilities, then stop having it at schools and having them at the minor/major league parks as a road to Omaha. I swear, the NCAA wants to grow the damn game :cough:bullshite:cough:, then do the right thing.

Also, ACC with 5 teams...NC State as a host?

I understand where you are coming from. I just feel Purdue deserves it regardless of the facility situation. Miami has no business hosting a regional.

You guys got screwed.

And I hate that for them because despite the NCAA's assertions that they're all for the "student-athlete" you have this. The best thing for them to do is go on a tear and march their asses to Omaha despite the snub.

All in for the SEC dominating Omaha despite the lack of hosts.

Have you seen our economy? Money dried up and $800 million in bonds went to expanding and building a new University Hospital.

They are/have built new track and soon softball/soccer stadiums...baseball is down the line, but the money is not there right now...Mitch is trying to milk Cliff Hagen a tad bit more until funds come around.

If they were going to put UK and UL together, then UK would had hosted...I promise you, the ticket for the regional would had been hard to get...the state was buzzing about the possibilities of having the both in a regional in Kentucky.

I think the NCAA is going to ship the both of them to different regionals.

Bonding issues with the state. Louisville and their basketball arena that they're barely able to pay rent on has made it tough to get anything sports-wise. The little bonding they can get they're putting into educational facilities instead.

I remember watching uk vs lsu at kentucky and hardly anyone was there. For that big of a series that is pretty bad and prolly why they are not hosting.

WTF are you talking about...UK had over 2,500-3,500 for the games.

Your point would be valid if Miami didn't average much more in attendance then we did with a bigger stadium (hence more empty seats) and a "traditional" baseball program.

Maybe this really is helping to expand the game. I've never seen KY fans so pissed off about baseball before.

Several SEC teams have gotten screwed in recent years, either by being left out or by not hosting so some crap team with a 500 seat stadium can host in their place.
