Comedy gold right here. It just allowed me to paint the picture of his TV ad in my head. You certainly have a way with words. Surely Chicken has this thread bookmarked to move to the Classics Board after this overwhelmingly hilarious post.

What is Mett's major at LSU?

Please don't make me google it.

I thought this was about his off the field stuff so I wasn't going to post that b.s. (we've been through that 1k times - leave the kid alone, we all make mistakes) but this has to do with on the field performance.

Can't believe he was the 12th ranked QB in the SEC (out of 14) there were some real stinkers ranked above him. I thought he played better than that ranking. AJ was #1 and I thought they were pretty equal when LSU played Bama (except for the final drive). Did he not play as well in other games?

Mett was average in Tiger Stadium, and awful away from home. I feel the only exception to this was the Bama game, where he was simply a great QB most of the game.

He averaged 152 yards (50% completion) totaling 3 TDs and 2 INTs away from home.

To be fair, if you look at that picture there is a dude in the bed behind him in the background.

Why do you waste time making so many excuses?

I think the WRs really hurt Metts confidence with the dropped passes early in the year, and the fact that our oline looked like

Faulk-Collins-Lonergan-Williford-Hurst
to
Dwoarzyack(SP?)-Collins-Lonergan-Turner(RSFR)-Alexander(FR)

wasn't a good thing either. With a stable o line and hopefully Quan Leslie he will improve, which he will.

Matt needs to play much better on the road and develop more awareness in the pocket.Has a gun for an arm but needs to step up as a leader.

I always wondered about this - he is a great talent but doesn't seem like the leader type (or interested in being a leader).

A.J. can be a tad douchey (see e.g., yelling at B. Jones - probably the most decorated sec lineman ever) but he truly wants (or was born) to lead (probably why the moment is never too big for him).

Do you think Mett just didn't want to take that role last year because it was his first year starting and the team had so many other talented veteran players or do you think it's just who he is (a.k.a. a Tyler Bray type QB).

I'm not sure Mett is a natural leader. Hope he develops into one.

Mettenberger looked terrible outside of the Alabama game.

nah. He had good games against State and Ole Miss too. I thought he played relatively well against Clemson for having a turnstile at one of the tackles.
