1. Nebraska (2000) - After OU defeated #10 Texas and #2 KSU in back-to-back weeks, #1 Nebraska comes in and hurries out to a 14-0 lead before OU scores 31 unanswered, and to their first #1 ranking since 1987, and establishing the return of OU football.
2. Texas (2004) - shutout VY and the Horns. UT would win out, win Rose Bowl, and win it all in 2005.
3. Texas Tech (2008) - TTU was #2 and undefeated coming in after defeating previously undefeated #1 Texas. OU annihilated them with another 60 point performance en route to an eventual BCSNCG appearance.
4. Notre Dame (2013) - first win since only win in series since 1953. 2-8 overall record.
5. Missouri (2007) - the second meeting of the season in the CCG. MU comes in #1 one win away from the BCSNCG. OU wins again, and had case for BCS title game but to no avail.

stAte's win over MTSU was essentially for the Sun Belt title, because both teams came in tied for first with 6-1 records - but it was the last game of the regular season. SBC didn't have a Championship game at the time.

I'd put 2013 Georgia above the Middle Tennessee State win. Jeez. We don't win that one, we don't set up the Iron Bowl for all the marbles.

Sumlin beat a bunch of power five schools while at Houston which is always a big win. Beating number 5 Oklahoma state with dez Bryant was pretty much incredible.

In just the regular season
1. 2008 Georgia - really brought Alabama back
2. 2008 Iron Bowl - stopped the streak
3. 2008 LSU - stopped a streak
after that, it's kind of a toss up

So beating a top 10 team only gets an 'honorable mention'?

He beat a total of FOUR power five schools while at Houston.
Three in the 2009 season (Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Mississippi State) and one in the 2011 season (UCLA). Before you say Penn State in 2011, he wasn't the coach.
