Alabama (head and shoulders above everyone right now.)
Ohio State (within viewing distance of Alabama, with a telescope)
-Gap-
Michigan (As long as Harbaugh is there, they're the real deal.
-Gap-
Hesitantly Clemson (historically average program on a good run)
-Gap-
Lots of teams could go in that fifth spot; Oklahoma, LSU, Florida?, FSU, USC?, Texas, Notre Dame
(Mix of historically good programs on a downslope)
Washington, LouisvilleorVaTech, Auburn, UGA, and Penn State round out the top 15.
Realistically, at the moment, LSU is not top 5. Definitely top 10

Everyone is sucking Bama and Saban off right now, but if OSU wins, they would be right there with us in terms of best program the country. That would give them 2 out of the 3 Championships in the playoff era and you could make the case that they were probably one of the four best teams last year. Meyer has practically been unstoppable at OSU.

IMO the post tressel years hurt them. Sure, they've got tons of talent but not 6 straight recruiting classes of redshirt 5*s talent.

Are you referring to the 1 year they went 6-7 when Tressel resigned a few months before the season? I don't really hold that against the program now. That said, Meyer basically walked into a Top 5 program and had to do little rebuilding if any at all.

5. Oklahoma
4. Lsu (not really, just looking for upvotes)
3. Auburn (if lsu is #4, the barn must be #3)
2. Oklahoma again ( gonna beat the family by 30 in the sugar, so must be #2)
1. Florida Atlantic- revamped offense doesn't try to score as much as their new coach, sandy sexualharrassmentwater, but they don't have to with les as the new dc

Yet only one conference title at Ohio State. Somehow.

Historically, there are eight that stand out above the rest.
Alabama
Oklahoma
Texas
Nebraska
USC
Ohio State
Michigan
Notre Dame
Those are the eight bluebloods, and it will take decades of mediocrity to change that. The top five right now is a different list:
Alabama
Ohio State
Clemson
Florida State
Oklahoma
Then, there is the sleeping giant category. These programs have every built in advantage you could possibly want, but just can't, for reasons I have never been able to figure out:
Georgia
UCLA
Texas A&M
Alabama
Oklahoma
Texas
Nebraska
USC
Ohio State
Michigan
Notre Dame

Was it really only 1 year? I thought it was 2.

No different than us after 2011.

I think you're gay. LSU is top five. Especially after finishing as the second best team in the SEC this year.
Top five based on what criteria? Out of Alabama, OSU, Clemson, Florida State, Oklahoma, Michigan, etc... whose spot do they take? Based on direction of the program alone, LSU is on the outside looking in... with a pair of binoculars.

Post Tressel year, not years. It was the Fickell year.
Recruiting? If you average the last 5 247 Composite rankings Ohio State is second to only Alabama and the current (2017) class is shaping up as the best recruiting class in history.

Your logic makes no sense. You include Texas in the top 5 conversation, so I'm assuming you are talking top teams historically. But then I see you have Louisville, Washington and Virginia Tech (wtf?) in your top 15.
The other thing that is suspect about your post is that you have LSU in the mix for the #5 program. LSU wouldn't be #5 on the list of current top programs or historical top programs, so therefore I have to conclude that you don't know what you're talking about.

But, LSU didn't finish second in the league

Funny you have so many dislikes for this post as this was the exact list I thought of off the top of my head

You had to settle for someone on staff and couldn't get who you wanted as OC. You saved yourself a public humiliation from
Coaches saying no. You are where the hogs are. We can hopefully get rid of Bert soon. Your stuck with your crapshow for 3-5 years
