The QB did not torch us for 28, and most QB's will get some yardage when playing "Catch-up". Especially when their rushing attack has been stifled. You should consider watching us play.

Special teams are an issue for LSU, no doubt.

I'll take holding a division leader to 326 yards of total offense. That's pretty good. Gotta clean up the special teams.

So along with letting a 5'11" glorified running back throw for 270 yards on you, special teams are also an issue?

I don't think it's any secret that LSU's special teams are a dumpster fire this year.

Which is probably why ole Les caught Florida napping on the fake field goal.

We need players. Muschamp is obviously a great coordinator.

Agree. I have been harsh on CWM, but I think there is very low defensive talent level for both teams.

Maybe wait until after your team has played Arky and Bama to compare.

Focus on whatever facets you need to make yourself feel good. A&M and Chavis now have a better defense than LSU. Get used to it.

I think I'll focus on the fact that LSU is #15 in total defense and #8 against the run while Texas A&M is #60 in total defense and #98 against the run. Nothing to get used to though. It's been this way since you guys joined the SEC no matter who the defensive coordinators happened to be. But hey, you have a pretty good pass rush. Then again it won't help you when you come to Tiger Stadium on November 28th. We may not have to throw more than 10 passes.

If that is where we end up at the end of the year I am happy.

We break top 50 and I am ecstatic.

The two teams have played only one common opponent. MSU, on consecutive Saturdays.

MSU vs AU: 21 carries 56 net yards 2.7 ypc 0 TDs
MSU vs TAMU: 34 carries 196 net yards 5.8 ypc 2 TDs

Yeah, hard to see a difference there.

Good thing that isn't the only stat that matters for a defense. Quick look at YPP, PPP, 3rd Down %, Turnovers, and Scoring D then report back.

Is he?

He left Texas in shambles. He has not been a D coordinator since he left Texas. He has been an incompetent HC.

Florida's defensive coordinators were Dan Quinn, who went to Seattle and their D took them to a Superbowl win, and Durgin, who is now at Michigan and they have pitched several shutouts.

Meanwhile, Muschamp is coaching a defense that is worse than it was before he got there.

It's interesting that none of them seem concerned about Florida's backup QB torching them for 270 and 28 points last weekend

7 of those 28 points were on a punt return and 7 more were on a 13 yard drive when we fumbled a punt.....and UF got ballsy on 4th down. I'll give up 270 yards passing every week if we are holding a team to 55 rushing yards on 31 carries. But, yeah I'm concerned about blown coverages in zone defense.

Yet according to aggie stat keepers, Chavis is the world's greatest 3rd down defender in the country. The wkly stats provided here prove that is so.

Will do, as soon as someone starts a thread entitiled "Muschamp, Chavis: Worst YPP, PPP, 3rd Down %, Turnovers, and Scoring D in SEC".

Until then, I'll stick to the discussion ITT.

What does any of this have to do with him as a DC? He left Texas with talent on D. Link me to where he was the head coach?

Okay? What does this have to do with him as a DC? Sounds like he has a good eye for defensive coaches as well.

Eh, not really. About the same. We'll look at stats at the end of the year to determine rankings, but our DL was been completely decimated.

I'm pretty sure you have the post saved somewhere. I've seen you post it multiple times now. It isn't a very strong argument

Of course it was a serious question.

They are paid a lot of money to run the defense and I don't follow either team closely enough to know the answer so I'm curious as to what the reasons are.
