Muschamp, Chavis: Worst rushing defense in SEC

NCAA rushing defense stats LINK:
101. Auburn - 197 ypg, 5 yds/rush
97. Texas A&M - 195 ypg, 4.78 yds/rush
Next worst is Tennessee with 170.5 ypg, 4.61 yds/rush
What's the excuse?
Auburn played Fournette so that skewed their average quite a bit.
Should Derrick Henry be in the Heisman conversation after running wild in the first half over Chavis' defense?
Are Muschamp and Chavis worthy of being among the nation's highest paid assistants?
ETA:
More stats... I've highlighted Muschamp and Chavis in yellow. Other schools are included for comparison purposes. I started in 2009 for no particular reason other than it was Chavis' first season at LSU and those numbers for Bama from 2009 to present day are insane.

We need players. Muschamp is obviously a great coordinator.

Auburn took a real blow when Lawson went out for the year. I felt like he was the straw that stirred their drink.

LSU is going to absolutely throttle TAMU.

Kevin Steele > John Chavis and it isn't even close. Chavis is a bum now

We shall see -- it should be a great test for both Henry and Fournette.
LSU and Bama are the only two SEC schools allowing less than 100 yards rushing per game. Bama is #3 in the country, allowing a ridiculous 70.9 ypg. Arkansas is quite respectable as well with only 107 ypg. They held Henry to 95 on 27 carries but it was enough.

Thin at DT and LB. The improvement in our pass D has given us a defense good enough to win us games. Well worth it IMO

Focus on whatever facets you need to make yourself feel good. A&M and Chavis now have a better defense than LSU. Get used to it.

The MooseDump majic is still in effect. Glad it's somewhere other than G-Ville!

It's interesting that none of them seem concerned about Florida's backup QB torching them for 270 and 28 points last weekend

Their quarterback did an amazing job getting that muffed punt and punt return for a touchdown. It was terrifying how talented he was.

So along with letting a 5'11" glorified running back throw for 270 yards on you, special teams are also an issue?
