he'd get fired at A&M for trying to sling that BS.

We all thought he'd fit in perfectly at A&M when that job opened up. All the crazy antics towards Texas and pretending to be elite and all.

"When you try to build a program, you're not going to go from here to here," Mullen said. "There are a lot of steps in-between. Winning consecutive bowl games is certainly one of those steps."

sounds legit.

Appreciate the props

what did Mike Sherman just get fired for again? Pretty sure it was going from 9-4 to 6-6 and acting as if there was nothing wrong.

So going from a 9 win season to a 7 win season is a step in the right direction?

If he wins 6-7 games next year at any elite SEC school he would be fired. At MSU they are content with a bowl berth and Egg Bowl win.

Not saying our season was good as last season. It wasn't. Injuries on the online killed us. Were still just 2 plays away from having those 9 wins. shite happens. Better than the 3 to 4 wins we were accustomed to before Mullen.

So will Chizik be fired after his 6-7 wins next year, or is Auburn not elite?

Chiz won a NC. He has 4 mediocre seasons until he is canned.

If Chizik wins 6-7 games next year, he won't be talking about how great of a season it was.

I think Merlins is a decent coach. Considering the absolute lack of success they've had under Sherrill and Crooms, two consecutive winning seasons is definitely a step in the right direction.

It would have been better if they didn't struggle defensively and offensively (I think losing Manny Diaz was a pretty big loss, and the injuries obviously sucked). If MSU wins 8 next year, I think it's definitely a sign of program elevation IMO.

Defense wasn't really the problem. Yeah they didn't show up in the Arkansas game. The offense was our down fall. Hopefully with more consistent QB play, the better we will be. Including play calling.

You make it sound like it was just that fact alone. You know it wasn't.
