Sometimes you can tell pretty quick when it’s not gonna work. He’s got a senior heavy team that will probably be even worse next year. This is also a terrible time in the landscape of CFB to not be any good.
My thing is I can’t imagine this new AD is willing to spend his entire tenure rebuilding the football program because of a guy he didn’t hire. Sometimes you just gotta cut your losses and get out before it gets worse.
Having said that, State is only 3-3. If Arnett somehow gets to 6-6 he will be back. 5-7 and he might be, just depends. If he goes 4-8 or 3-9 then no way you can give this a Year 2.

MSU should be trending much better than they are currently. Arnett should have had the interim tag. Your AD sucks. Plain and simple as that. He went with a budget hire and refuses to really push the NIL. You have your version of Pete Boone. The sooner you change ADs, the better.

What did I say incorrectly? Their AD sucks. Stricklin had that place booming and showed what a decent AD can accomplish there.

Arguing over the Internet is pointless. Most MSU fans including myself think he is doing a fine job so far. He was put into a pretty odd position starting off. Now if he doesn't fire Arnett after this season then many will change their opinion including myself.

Arnett has the classic look of a guy in way over his head and trying to fake it. In his case he pulls out this fake stoicism when things are going to shite during a game trying appear as if he is in control when it really comes across as "I have no fricking idea how to fix this and I'm trying not to cry."

It'll be interesting to see if State can hold on to their current recruits. I know OM wants Lewis, Burnside and Hibbler. Burnside is a priority.

What’s weird is our offense is performing close to what it did last year when you look at games against the same opponents

We are staring down the barrel at the return of 4-8 (1-7) with the occasional 7-5 team that we saw from 2001-2009
