Kinda feeling like Les Miles right now. " There has to be a championship somewhere that we can win."

Nothing at all. Which is exactly what their athletic department has accomplished

If you care enough to win, but haven't been, you make the necessary changes, long before a period of 40+ years go by. MSU just didn't do it, because they didn't care enough to try harder, which is even worse.

MSU eventually caught on, and things are much much better than they used to be in virtually every sport.

So if you started caring 25 years ago then why did you only just elevate your football program to mediocre status in the last 5 years?

A dad joke? Come on man, you can do better than that. At least have your traditional yo momma joke.

Because we hired an actual proven coach, and weren't exactly mediocre in the 90's, there, young chop. Now...we did try to go back to the dark ages with the hiring of a particular coach later on and it almost sunk the ship.

Might want to wander on over to the Ole Miss board. I heard Freezus has the seventh dragon ball.

Hell Vandy didn't care about athletics from basically the retirement of McGugin in the 20s until about 2000 and has won 3 NCs since 2007...

Coordinators are actual proven coaches?

You won 10 games once, made the SECCG once but were 8-5 that season.
You also had 4 losing seasons in the 90s and the rest were 7-5 type seasons

That sounds like the definition of mediocre to me, but I guess it's all about perspective. From a Mississippi State POV I reckon that is the golden era..

Too bad the coach that led you to all that "success" got fired for cheating and got your program hit with a 4 year probation

Well that's different. Vanderbilt is a prestigious academic institution and were focused on their academic reputation.

Mississippi State on the other hand is academically a step above Jefferson State Community College.

If they didn't care about athletics or academics, then what the hell were they doing out in that cow pasture for so long?

And went 5/5 against Auburn's cheaters in the 90's and cheated less.

Coordinators? Who the hell are you talking about?

I mean haha..at least I got you doing some actual research.

That would make Auburn a step above Jones Junior College.
