"pacific" on HBO (was epic by the way) The main character eugene sledge went to auburn when he got out of the military. It talks about him attending the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (API, aka AU)
ETA: theres an episode of how I met your mother where marshall is wearing an Auburn T-shirt and an episode of entourage where vince is wearing an alabama T-shirt.
Also I'm sure "sweet home alabama" has been mentioned. When reese witherspoon and the guy call for the dog at the same time she says "bear" and he says "bryant" (obviously bear died)
