hester should have had a TD right before that IIRC, but for some reason he was ruled short. then the phantom holding penalty
jamarcus was the worst qb sneaker ever
It was originally ruled a td but then turned over. That was the first year of replay review.

Think there was a questionable fumble called on Hester that game as well.
Frustrating year.

Depends on how you want to define bust.
In terms of preseason prediction vs. final outcome, 2000 Alabama, was coming off a great season and an SEC Championship and preseason #3, then Dubose Dubose'd and they finished 3-8 with the worst offense any Alabama team has had since the mid 50's.
In terms of actual potential obviously 2010 Alabama, probably the most talented team Saban ever had. Going 10-3 and finishing #9 was definitely beneath their potential.

That really doesn't do it justice.
Notre Dame had no business being on that field. LSU outclassed them in every way.
maybe not but i don't think you can call an 11-2 team that finished #3 in the country as one of the biggest busts of the BCS era.

Alabama was shutout like 3 times that year, one by Southern Miss
Yeah, Alabama has been shutout something like 5 times in my lifetime and THREE of them came that season (2000). The defense that year was actually quite good, but the offense was the worst offense Alabama has had in 50 years.

So by your logic, any team that finishes lower than they were ranked to start the season should be included in here.

Any team that can do that little with those players...yes. UGA has had some good teams throughout the BCS era, but ain't won a damn thing to show for it. I'd say that qualifies as disappointing.

I don't think it's quite a simple as looking at preseason rankings vs. final rankings because preseason rankings are largely a guess.
Preseason rankings a just one piece of the puzzle in determining if a team was disappointing.

I think it is hard to call a 2 loss team disappointing, but the 2006 LSu team was good.
who knows what would have happened had we not gotten screwed against Auburn and met Florida again.

thats with them pulling out a 21 point comeback at LSU.
The 2005 LSU team was good too. I think Katrina screwed us over on that one.

-2001 UF. No details necessary.
Not necessarily a disappointment just no depth at RB. If Earnest Graham doesn't miss two starts due to injury, they are 13-0 playing Miami for all of the marbles.

Yeah, it was a crazy game. Watched it the other night on SECn

That was prolly our worst team in our recent run. But I was sincerely worried for the safety of some of our guys. Saban could have put 80 on us if he wanted to.

Spurrier revenge game too. Miami had beat us in the Sugar Bowl a year before.
I think UF would've given them a game.

That team was so stout, it's crazy that they lost 3 games that year.

Zook had some frustrating teams, but 2010 was a huge disappointment. That team was a complete clusterfrick, and UM didn't give a shite

5 division titles, 2 sec titles, 2 sugar bowls, 3 top 3 finishes...
I think we've won more than 'not a damn thing'.
