Well, shite — I thought it was the guy with the wagon. You and Harry are correct. Changed the arrow for clarity, and modified the post with the tweet to show which pedestrian we're supposed to be looking at.

I'm sure law enforcement knows this but you can still track a dead cell phone.
Here's the android way:
No doubt there's a way to do it on Apple too. And I bet it's a lot easier for LEO's. BUT it may take the FBI getting involved to do it. Local law enforcement prob doesn't have the ability.

No, he's basically straight north of the bars when he's crossing there, maybe 1/8 of a mile or shorter
he's heading east across 1st, so he was just on 2nd street, north of Hooters on 2nd street
ETA: if you were at Hooters and then walking to a Tenn Titans game, you'd be on basically the same path he's on, except you'd be finding the entrance to the bridge to cross the river

I haven't lived there in decades, but the way I remember Nashville is that the downtown area was generally safe, but other areas not so much.

that bombing was like literally a football field or less south from the Hooters on 2nd street
he probably walked right by the Hooters heading north, then headed east on whatever that street is (Church) to make him cross 1st street

Yeah, not sure why a friend couldn't get him loaded in an Uber back to the hotel. But, this happens. Fearing the worst and the river got him but hopefully there is good news soon.

Leaving downtown Nashville on foot, I'd only walk toward Vanderbilt and nowhere else, west southwest
ETA: I'd walk toward Titan's stadium of course, east across the river, but that's still in downtown

A genuine friend would've gone with him. He was in town for some sort of frat formal so maybe he was a rep and was alone. But if he was there with friends, at least one of them should've bitten the bullet and gone with him.
ETA: Saw where his friends reported him missing the next day. So again, someone should've gone. It's not their fault he's missing but always look out for your drunk friends - always.

all that area I'm sure is now developed into a "river walk" type area. Cobblestones and barriers, etc., safe for children within eye shot of their parents, etc., I don't think it's a question of the river so much.
10pm in that section still seems safe as can be, and there'd be people sitting around there holding hands eating ice cream. etc
ETA: yep, I'm wrong, not as developed as I thought it would be

^^Nashville has that area safe. Look, TN is a tourism state. We make sure all the places you'd likely be are alright. I really don't think it's foul play unless he wandered very far away from where he started.

This seems to be the direction of travel as he exits the frame of the video.
Just looking along the riverfront there, it appears to be barricaded by a fence, which then becomes a bridge railing.
So to get to the water, he'd presumably have to climb over/around a fence, or fall over the edge of the bridge.

well I'm wrong - ETA: looked at Google street - the "riverwalk" is not as developed as I imagined it would be. I lived there years ago, and just assumed that brick and mortar would have made it's way towards the bank by now, but it has not. So yeah, he could have leaped over the barrier and tried to toy with walking on dirt and grass to the edge.

I mean if we're being honest and put ourselves in that situation, we might also be looking for a spot off the beaten path to pee, puke, or pass out.
