The murder thing was overstated, but the chances of being victim of a property, or violent crime in Nashville is 1 in 20, which is among the highest in the nation.

Eh for a while Knoxville had a ridiculous crime rate (might still) but I've never felt unsafe there or in Nashville.

ETA: As of 2023 Knoxville had one of the highest crime rates in the US for its size. But again, never felt unsafe there. Stay in your lane and you're fine.

Head and shoulders above the rest of the crowd. Should be easy enough to spot on surveillance cameras.

So he did not head south, and that's good, but he did head toward the river somewhat NNE of where the bars are. Somewhat safe unless you just keep walking too far north or God forbid cross the bridge heading east.

As a Mizzou fan, it's nice to see support from fellow SEC baws. Hopefully this story has a happy ending.

I doubt he went in for a swim but could’ve gotten close to the edge of a bank or bridge and slipped. Now you’re fully clothed in moving, cold water. Probably not much structure to grab a hold of that’s not covered in algae and silt. Try to stay near the edge until you can find a way out but it’s deep water and constantly expending energy just staying afloat. Factor in the current, water temp, intoxication, any passing boats creating undertow and it’s not hard to see someone disappearing rather quickly. Shitty way to go, especially at such young age.

Anyone know why he was kicked out? If he was in some sort of altercation, the police should start with the others involved.

No doubt. People don't realize what a damn difference there is between 6 foot and 6'6-6'7. My brother is 6'6 and he can't go through most door frames without stooping. Most of the time he never stands at his full height because he's a little self-conscious about being so much taller than the average.

circled is where he crossed in the video going away from the river, and Luke's bar is pinned. Looks like he was pretty lost. I wonder if they have him on cctv going back towards the river.

Is that not the river in the top left of the video? Looks like he was walking towards it, not away.

Like I said earlier, for some reason inebriated folk in cities tend to find their way to a river. IDK why. But so many young men have lost their lives that way. I really, really, hope he's alive and well somewhere but the river is where I'd look.

Yeah, it's right there. That looks like a mere 30-second walk to the river.

Unless I'm looking at it incorrectly, I don't think that's the spot.

I believe it might be here:

Here's the two for comparision:

It seems like he's just up from the end of Broadway (where the scenic overlook is located), about a block over from where the RV bomb exploded a few years ago.

If he did fall in, as odd as it sounds, the Cumberland runs weird. He could be in a lot of places. It's not a North/South river like a lot of rivers.

Edited cuz I was thinking from my direction. But looking at the river maps he could be in the Tennessee by now.

Yeah, I mean it looks like he's right across the river across from Nissan Stadium.

Yeah, I mean it looks like he's paralleling the river across from Nissan Stadium, and headed towards that turnaround spot where Ubers and cabs sit.

Which means he would've presumably come across "civilization" had he kept going, so maybe either he did and got into a car with someone, or fell in and didn't make it quite that far south.

But strangely he appears to be moving towards the bar, right?

Yeah but he does seem kinda lost/changing directions in the vid too. I can't imagine though that he didn't contact someone by now if he got a ride. Any bender would've long since been slept off. And at this point, they've looked for John Does at the morgue, the jails, and at the hospitals.

ETA: Which makes me wonder.... what about his cell pings? Nothing has been said there. Are they still working on it bc he is an adult and it takes more time to get providers to turn that over?

looks like you are correct, I was looking at it all wrong. I didn't even realize that you can see the river in the video (doh!)

My post has been updated with your picture.

this is the only thing that the article says about it

quote:

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) initiated checks of hospitals and jails, along with a cell phone ping. Friends were able to see Strain’s Snapchat location somewhere around the Metro Courthouse. When police checked with Verizon, the company said it could no longer ping his phone due to the phone being off. However, its last ping was somewhere around James Robertson Parkway and Gay Street.
