To continue on my previous brilliant idea, Mizzou joins B1G in wrestling, gets included in the CIC, gains the academic prestige that comes from being in the B1G (unless you're Nebraska), while still remaining in the best overall athletics conference (SEC). Mizzou would also claim an equal share of both the SEC and B1G networks.

Yes yes, that is very nice. Athletics are a fun part of attending an institution of higher learning. However, I am more concerned with improving our status as an elite public university rather than winning some meaningless sports titles.

Oh I didn't realize the creation of conferences was to foster academic competition?
Duke, Stanford, Vandy dont seem to have this issue of conference affiliation affect their academic competition vs peer academic schools.

Well that's what I'm getting at. In the SEC, it's not. However, in the Big 10, there is a multitude of collaboration between the universities involving research, studies, etc.

You do realize that Mizzou isn't even a top tier academic school in the SEC right?

The problem is they didn't want you.
Hell, we didn't want you either, but we thought we be nice. You know, it's that whole Southern Hospitality thing. It doesn't always work out for the better, however.
It looks like CUSA is willing to expand, maybe y'all could try over there. We'll keep your seat for you while you look around, though.

So do you really mean you should have joined a conference where you could actually win.....? Cause I don't think you could be seriously talking about education..... You do realize there are 5 SEC universities ranked higher in education than your beloved Mizzou.... Leave this site please!
