When in the big 12 how many games and bowl games were against an sec team? For the years listed

I'll answer that one:

2000 Independence Bowl - Mississippi State 43, A&M 41
2005 Cotton Bowl - Tennessee 38, A&M 7
2009 - Arkansas 47, A&M 19
2009 Independence Bowl - Georgia 44, A&M 20
2010 - Arkansas 24, A&M 17
2011 Cotton Bowl - LSU 41, A&M 24
2011 - Arkansas 42, A&M 38

A&M was 0-7 vs. the SEC throughout the entirety of Big 12 play.

Travel is more of an issue for yall than it is for us. I know TAMU did a study on this and I forget the exact details but average travel was something like 50 more miles a season. Also, we have a long history with two SEC schools and that made the transition easier for us than yall. Missouri really had no history with any SEC teams like we did.

It sounds to me like you miss the XII. Texas A&M WANTED to be in the SEC; Missouri just wanted out of the XII.

I'd say that is pretty accurate. I wouldn't say I miss the XII as much as I miss the Big 8.

2011 Cotton Bowl - LSU 41, A&M 24
2011 - Arkansas 42, A&M 38

A&M was 0-6 vs. the SEC throughout the entirety of Big 12 play.

2003 Independence Bowl - Arkansas 27, Mizzou 14
2005 Independence Bowl - Mizzou 38, South Carolina 31
2006 - Mizzou 34, Ole Miss 7
2007 - Mizzou 38, Ole Miss 25
2008 Cotton Bowl - Mizzou 38, Arkansas 7

Mizzou was 4-1 vs. the SEC throughout the entirety of Big 12 play

Not really.

And on a related note, watching Oklahoma squirm and try to figure out a way to get out of the Big 12 is fantastic. All of that arrogance, signing the GoR, talking down to Mizzou for all those years, and now watching them filled with regret... it's priceless.

If you need some high comedy, check out the conference realignment thread on landthieves.

A&M misses being able to beat their old big brother on occasion since they can't beat their new big brother.

At first, if you know texass like we know texass...you would too. Then Mizzou found out that the SEC was in-play. That changed to a BIG WANTED in from Mizzou. And darn glad to be here now. Winner, winner chicken dinner!

I don't miss the big12-2-2+2. The Big8 was cool but she's dead.

Going to oSu was always a blast. Most accomodating fans in the big12. Show up hungry and sober and without knowing a soul, you'll leave fat and drunk.

y'all wanted to join the BIG 10, which wasn't interested in expanding at that time. You jumped to the first life-preserver thrown your way. You don't really fit in here, and that is another key difference.

The best thing about leaving the Big 12 is that we've effectively marginalized the faction of people at A&M who based accomplishments as compared to what the sips did.

Don't miss anything, and the quote deals with a big part of that. Defining ourselves in relation to UTx may have made sense when we were a small, all-male military school. For a very long time, it really wasn't feasible to contemplate escaping their shadow. But that's changed now, and moving to the SEC provided the dramatic public break to what had never really been a healthy relationship. If we never play them again in anything, I will be perfectly content.

Now, a big part of why I'm content to consign the UTx game to the dustbin of history is because the SEC is such a fantastic conference. The excitement, week to week, absolutely blows the B12 out of the water. Even if you compare the SEC w/ the B12 at it's height, with Nebraska and a still formidable Colorado.

This! And if OU or VT had been able to jump on spot #14 you'd still be fricked in the XII. You are welcome.

since recent history doesn't seem to be your thing, yea we "heard the TEN was expanding" that's why we checked into it, but didn't like the "junior membership" offer that much.

So no we didn't "jump at the first life preserver", the SEC having an opening as it were is still as much the product of Bevo/LHN/ESPN...

so "thanks" Bevo/LHN/ESPN, we appreciate your assistance with our move to the SEC!

SEC didn't want Mizzouri. Y'all were only added to bring the league to 14 teams.

Dumb arse is dumb arse, you always bitch about Mizzou must be all the arse whoppin' you have taken the last decade at the hands of Mizzou. Mizzou was wanted for market share and tv sets as was A&M simple as that.

Forgot about the Snow Bowl.

A&M was 0-7 vs. the SEC as a member of the Big 12.
