I don't think that incest is what won Bama the titles.

Is their AD's hissy fit all over y'all leaving?

Yes. Sheahon Zenger, their AD, and Bill Self were beyond butthurt when we said adios. Their collective tighty whities are still knotted up. At this point, though, lots of Mizzou fans simply don't care to play them anymore - we are enjoying greener pastures and new opponents.

And that rivalry was ugly. There was nothing good-natured about it. The only reason we hadn't had a Harvey Updike-esque incident is that we already burned Lawrence to the ground 150 years ago. That's tough to top - sort of a "drops mike and walks away" moment.

I miss beating SEC teams when we represented the B12, but I now like beating B12 teams representing the SEC.

The Mizzou fans miss the basketball tourney in KC. As a baseball fan, I really enjoyed having the baseball tournament in OKC, where you parked your car when you checked into the hotel, and could go to games, go eat out, go to bars, and do a number of things without having to drive anywhere. I don't RV, so Hoover doesn't interest me.

Besides that, good riddance. And I say that as someone who lives in Wichita Falls, which is right in the middle of the old Big XII south division. Going to games in Stillwater, Ames, Waco and other Big XII venues was such a non-event that the ease of travel wasn't enough to overcome the meh factor.

yea I figure we owe Bevo as much thanks as Aggie, after all Aggie wasn't all that unhappy with the unlevel playing field of the tv money contract, it was only when Bevo got their own network that set them off.

either way the SEC got a state(US) with better TV markets than 6 of their existing states and a flagship AAU program with a campus that is second to none.

as the SLive suits would say, "it was a win-win".

Why would any Aggie miss a conference they only won ONE time, got whooped by their main rival yearly, went 3 for 12 over the last 15 games against said rival.......Of course they don't miss that! they beat Bama in 2012, they run Texas, haven't yall heard?

That's right. It really hasn't had an effect. The aggies have been outcasts from the very beginning. Decades of all-male military instruction does that to people, kind of an us-against-the-world mentality. I mean, really? What's not to point at and laugh at a bunch of toy soldiers who have an overinflated sense of self? Have you SEC people learned ANYTHING yet? They are glad to get away from other Texans because they are tired of being ridiculed.

Seriously, who wouldn't miss this kind of love, right?

Good grief, we might begin to miss them and the game but they keep following us around all the time it's like we never really left.

The venues/games got better and we're on a national versus regional stage. What's not to like?

There isn't a damn thing I miss from the XII. A&M made a huge mistake by joining the XII when the SWC imploded. We knew then and all along that we didn't fit "culturally" in that league. We were finally able to reverse and fix that mistake and are where we should have been all along.

As far as playing tu, it was their decision to not play us. Their AD threatened and made ultimatums that they would never play us again if we went to the SEC. They made good on that. A&M and the SEC did everything in their power to continue the annual game OOC, but tu refused. At this point I just don't care anymore if we ever play them again. Thanksgiving comes and goes and I really don't miss it.

The best thing about leaving the Big 12 is that we've effectively marginalized the faction of people at A&M who based accomplishments as compared to what the sips did.

Case in point:

1999 season - Preseason #10, ended up going 8-4 with blowout losses to Oklahoma, Nebraska (by shutout), and Penn State (by shutout). The people I referenced thought it was a successful season because we beat t.u.

Meanwhile, while the 2012 campaign was viewed as a successful season, the 2013 (9-4) and 2014 (8-5) campaigns were viewed as disappointments, despite the fact that both seasons were better than our 1996, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2011 seasons. The 2013 season equaled the 1997, 2006, and 2010 results with the exception that we WON our bowl game in 2013.

13 wins it looks like in conference play for AGS in those years you listed. Non conf and bowl games don't matter. When in the big 12 how many games and bowl games were against an sec team? For the years listed

Good Basketball...and better reffing. SEC basketball is so reliant on athleticism...it is just ugly to watch (outside kentucky obviously).

I am a big wrestling guy too. I miss good conference wrestling.

Bar banter. Especially in KC, there are lots of former Big 12 grads. Nebraska, ku, kstate, Mizzou, even some Iowa state fans. Definitely a big damper on that.

kU games. College sports just don't feel the same without it.

Shorter drives. SO much easier to go to away games. I'll hit maybe 1 per year in the SEC. I'd hit most of the Big12 North away games. Away Conference basketball games in the SEC....forget about it.

Travel is more of an issue for yall than it is for us. I know TAMU did a study on this and I forget the exact details but average travel was something like 50 more miles a season. Also, we have a long history with two SEC schools and that made the transition easier for us than yall. Missouri really had no history with any SEC teams like we did.

It sounds to me like you miss the XII. Texas A&M WANTED to be in the SEC; Missouri just wanted out of the XII.
