That's a pretty view... but holy frick, there's no way I would want to sit up at the top of that upper endzone.

They give you ropes to tie off with up there.

this reminds me of when people from McKinney and Plano try to say they are from Dallas.

They might as well be. DFW is one big town in my mind. I used to eat lunch in Springdale sometimes when I lived in Fayetteville. Their city limits are probably a football field apart. I would go to the movies in Rogers.

So the Arkansas argument is "Come to Fayetteville, because we have Bentonville and Rogers."

People should be coming to your city because there are things to do there. Unless going to Wal-Mart is a priority nobody is going from Atlanta to Rogers just for the fun of it.

All of these other things you named that actually pertained to Fayettville have the same benefits as Columbia, except we have a better bar district and bigger stadium (next year). Nice try though

I was just telling you what they should have said. I live in Central Arkansas. I've just seen this debate 100 times over in our Great Stadium Debate. The NWA folks to tend to group themselves together. It's almost cult like sometimes.
It is a great game atmosphere with alot to offer. I honestly couldn't tell you if Columbia or Fayetteville is better having only been to one.

Pretty much ill put it like this. If you want to see a great college town that is compared alot to Athens against a new opponent, come to Columbia.

If you want to see a W on the road to an SEC West bottom feeder, then go to Fayetteville.

Yeah. They put on a helluva craft fair there in October.
Lots of grannies in quilted sweatshirts, to be sure.

I am not claiming that?

Also ours is one continuous city for over 30 min on I-540. US 63 is completely devoid of populated places between como and jeff city, which is about as insignificant a state capitol that there is in the US. So, as previosuly stated, empty cornfields

He should go to Como because after you renovate you'll have like 3K more seats than us

Solid. I'd take our 76K over your 80K(after you renovate that is to beat it) any day because ours is top notch filled with suites.

Rocks are fun. Can we put rocks on our grass area to expand seating so we can say we have an extra 2000-3000 "capacity" please?

You should be there when the wind is better than 10mph. I thought I was wasted the one time I sat up there but no, it was just swaying.

Keep pitching visiting an even shittier city as a selling point.

We need to start saying that they can go to Moberly and all the tourist attractions there.

I'm going to catch a lot of shite over this - but it is kind of a wash (from a students perspective). I've spent quite a bit of time in Columbia, albeit, not near the amount of time I did in Fayetteville.

Each has positives/negatives depending on your tastes. Fayetteville is absolutely beautiful in the fall. Columbia isn't bad - it just isn't as scenic.

But - you're a student (I'm assuming). There are Bars in each city, and plenty of señorita action to be had regardless

so our visitor doesn't have a car on his trip and can't drive 10 minutes?

ETA: also you didn't answer my question: have you been to either Fayetteville or Athens?

My point is, if Fayetteville is so great why would they need to go anywhere else? If it cant keep you entertained, then I would just stay in Atlanta.
