Wife and I went two years go. It's our weekend with our daughter that weekend and we schedule road trips around the custody schedule.

All home games for us this year and the road trips are Arky State, Vandy, and Arky with the BYU game 15-20 min away here in KC.

But we always do at least 2-3 road trips a year. We went to both SEC Championship games as well. The SEC does those right. Good times.

Sorry you don't get to see your daughter more often. Must be tough. However, kudos to you for making your time with her that more special by taking her to ballgames!

Might not be news, but sad to call yourself a SEC team. Get with the program.

Lol.

All of our conference road games (aside from Arkansas) are too far to drive over a weekend. Sorry, I'm not going to shell out a thousand bucks per trip for three or four conference road trips per season. I'd like to make at least one per year, otherwise I'd rather watch the game on my TV with beer and bbq in hand. If that makes me a non-SEC caliber fan, guess I'll have to pack my Yankee bags.

I would assume Auburn would be who we switched with (frick Alabama's Tennessee rivalry) so we would not be traveling to AU.

Jesus fricking Christ... Go back to the B12 already, what a lame fricking excuse. This game has been scheduled to be in Athens in odd numbered years since you entered the Conference in 2012, it's not a surprise, plans can be made in advance...

Who gives a shite if they come or not. Just more UGA fans that will get in the game. I'd rather MiZz send 0 fans and UGA had 100% capacity

Trust me...you are NOT taking a Taxi from Atlanta to Athens. Rental. But I get your drift.

Thanks! She is a lil 5 year old and we have her about half the time. She is being brought up right. Saturday is football day! She loves her Tigers and her Royals. I remember as a kid growing up that there was just something peaceful about football Saturdays (depending on how the games went according to Dad-ha). So I am doing my part to be a good daddy.

Pretty tough to travel 700+ miles for conference away games.

You realize you can get fresh horses along the way, right?

Really? Who rents a car in their own city? When we go on vacation I always rent a car. That's the only time I DO rent a car.

Mizzou doesn't travel particularly well. This isn't really news.

I get that, I was just addressing the points the poster was putting up.

If they really wanted to make it happen, they can make it happen. If they just want to stay home, that is cool, but at least come out and say it than put up an obstacle to make it seem like a different issue.

I have travelled all over the SEC and ACC and it can be done cheaply if you plan ahead. The key is spending the money early to get the best deal and thinking outside the box. If the poster really wanted to get to UGA game it can be done.

I know ways to trade off 1 cost to spend the same dollars elsewhere. This really works for baseball as you have more dates to work around.

Basketball, especially the post season, is the worst because of the shortest times. NCAA Final Fours should be limited to venues with the most air selections so you don't get raped. Football is usually the best for most things as games are played in the middle of the weekend so you can jiggle the arrival and departure to your advantage.

2nd time someone returned tickets to UGA. Maybe it's just that no one wants to go to that God forsaken place.

Athens? SURELY you jest! We might hurl the occasional loogie at an opposing fan or two, but to call it God forsaken? Cold, man. REALLY cold!

Uhhh...That would be Athens, GREECE.

You can't take a cab from ATL to there either.

We just want UGA to have more fans at the game to witness the skull fricking by Mizzou.

Sounds like a great kid! And trust me, when you are old and gray you...and she will look back on those trips as highlights of her childhood.

I get the point on the travel and Mizzou needs to do better and has been improving since the SEC move.

It is just how many times can you have the 3 day weekend? That's why we do 2/3 road trips a year. Every SEC trip from KCMO except Arky is a flight, hotel, and rental car.

Not really a great excuse, but it gets expensive if you try to do all road games each year. I will go to Athens every time we can though. I love that town and I have some friends that live in north Georgia.
