Flew in to St Louis in '12.Stayed in St. Charles and actually took a Mizzou party bus to Columbia. (did get e rental car for the trip to St Charles)

Did all of this pretty last minute and it cost around $600 give or take.

Plus won about $250 gambling in St Charles.

One of my better road trips

Here's the thing...people don't get off work until 5 on Friday. Then you've got to spend ~400 dollars for a round trip flight on Friday night that returns Sunday. Plus cost of taxi to and from Athens, tickets, food, and hotel so you're looking at over 600 dollars ...all of that just to go go a game that is a better experience on television anyways. It's a problem across college sports that the TV product is superior to the live product.

Is the problem that Mizzou fans haven't figured out they can take off Friday and make a weekend trip out of the game, because that's like a thing. You should get on that.

UGA-mizzou should be held in Nashville, Houston or Cincinnati. It is not fair to hold it every other year in Athens.

Mizzou doesn't travel particularly well. This isn't really news.

Might not be news, but sad to call yourself a SEC team. Get with the program.

2nd time someone returned tickets to UGA. Maybe it's just that no one wants to go to that God forsaken place.

Good deal. An elite group of division champions only that includes such stalwarts as Arkansas, State, and Ole Miss. That's the kind of company you want in this conference.

They would if they lived in Boston. Wanna see our UGA bar in Boston- or would that be too hard to believe for a wanna be SEC team that can't sell their tickets?
I'm from SW GA slick.

Jesus fricking Christ... Go back to the B12 already, what a lame fricking excuse. This game has been scheduled to be in Athens in odd numbered years since you entered the Conference in 2012, it's not a surprise, plans can be made in advance...

Not like the excuses for poor attendance in the SECCG where you weren't sure till a week or so before if you were going...

Exactly. We never have, and the extreme cost and distances to schools like USCe, UGA, and UF do nothing to alleviate that issue. Our best road crowds will always be at Vandy, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Arkansas.

Missouri is a pro-sport state, like it or not. We love our Tigers but we will never have the rabid, devoted following like schools in Alabama or Georgia.

That is not anywhere close to being true. Watching games on TV sucks so bad. They miss half of the play blabbering and when they are showing the field they cut off half of the players. It is impossible to watch routes and anything that is off the ball.

It is only a matter of time that Mizzou will be in the west. It makes too much sense. The travel has to be brutal for not just the fans, but the teams as well.

Would have to rent a car from ATL?

I like having a car whenever I travel as I drive around in the off time but if the plane costs under 200 the car and hotel get that much cheaper.

If you are high enough in the Mizzou food chain you can probably catch a non stop charter but you get stuck doing whatever they set.

If you are just a Mizzou fan they usually have the same but it is done by a travel company. I like a car when I land, but it can be done without one.

Again, I like the freedom of a car so STL to ATL (visit family) and drive back and forth to Athens, Charleston, and Savannah.
