I agree with Jesus in saying it feels like they schedule these games because they're cheap.

That said, I really don't care or get what's to be all embarrassed about. They're just cupcakes.

Most are close road trips in areas we're trying to recruit.

Plus as Bob mentioned, if it's that big of a deal they'll probably buy it out anyway.

Better to schedule MAC schools in a recruit rich state like OH than TN which has to import top players from other states. I get his point on this one, even more so if they play in MTSU's venue which seats only around 30K (Vandy seats about 40K) instead of Nashville proper and say Nissan Stadium.

Case in point is Notre Dame playing small stadium teams in big venues for better exposure which really make them neutral or pro Notre Dame crowds.

From a team that lost to Indiana and got razzed on here, losing to MTSU would be almost impossible to live down. Unlike losing to a MAC school who's fans may never find this site, pretty sure the Blue Raider folks know how to find this place as several alumni have already posted in this thread.

Where did that come from?

I was agreeing with your point above and pointing out if Mizzou wants to be viewed in the top, they need to schedule like it. However, if you want to get snippy about it, UK and UT usually have the toughest SoS's in all of FBS football so wins come a bit harder. Call me when Mizzou does this for about a decade and we can discuss it further.

Vols schedule Oklahoma while Mizzou schedules Indiana
UK plays UL every year and plays Bama, Auburn, and LSU more than Mizzou so far.

As to UK and Mizzou, the series is 3-2 in Tigers favor and last year a crappy UK team went to Columbia and lost by 10 to the SEC East winner. Slow your roll a bit there less it flips this year and you wind up with a plate full of crow pie.

So you're a UK fan? That explains the ball washing.

Hate to agree with a Vol but Mizzou's OOC scheduling is pathetic at best.

You're shite talking our 2022 schedule. 2022. That's 7 years from now.

Games probably won't happen. SEC will probably go B1G route and only play power 5 schools. Schedule is probably made to fill voids. Doubt if games will happen because of the future changes of the Power 5 schools.

What's the end goal, to win OOC games or to win the SECCG?

I feel like if you win the SECCG no one gives a shite who you play OOC.

Good teams like to win both

Bama was playing SEC schedules but that long term series (decade) with Penn State sure got them solid TV slots around the rest of the country.

Every time a SEC school wins a big OOC game it helps both the schools perception and the perception of the league as a whole.

As a Mizzou fan, it does suck to see these games.

I would much rather the Tigers have OOC games against better competition on the road, but it is not happening. You have to take what you get when you switch conferences. Hopefully in the future there will not be games like this, but until then, just have to take care of whats in front of you.
