What's funny you don't even believe that.
Best case 4-2
Worst case 3-3

I'm sure you would have this exact same reaction if it were A&M making this move.
I would actually. I think the exposure would be well worth it.
I've been saying I want a series with Tulane and would love to continue an SMU series for some time now. Just b/c a school might not be a P5 doesn't mean going to their place is a bad idea.

I don't see that as the same thing as going to UMASS.
At Tulane, gives you more exposure in a nearby recruiting hotbed. And SMU, at least for A&M(and Arkansas), renews an old conference rivalry. Not to mention all the talent in the Metroplex.

Well, that's not actually happening, so you shouldn't feel one way or the the other about it.

Cool. Get to go to New England in the autumn and play at Gillette stadium. Meanwhile, OM fans pretend like they wouldn't want to do this lol...

While not a fan of the opponent, it's still a pretty cool trip to go to MA in the fall and play at Gillette. Too bad BC wasn't available

That's worse than Mizzou traveling to Toledo. Didn't UMass just make the jump to FBS?

Not sure how this is embarrassing. UMASS has to go to Starkvegas twice, and the Bulldogs get to play in an NFL stadium.

According to multiple athletic department sources, UMass is expected to announce Monday afternoon a series between the Minutemen and Bulldogs beginning Sept. 24, 2016, at Gillette Stadium.
The game is part of a two-for-one contract between the two schools. UMass will visit Starkville, Mississippi, on Sept. 23, 2017 and Oct. 17, 2020.
The Bulldogs will be the second Southeastern Conference team the Minutemen have hosted. Vanderbilt visited Gillette in 2013.
I see no problem with this. They probably don't have to pay UMass hardly anything for the two games in Starkville since they are willing to go to Gillette and will get some good exposure in an area that normally wouldn't have them on the radar.
I don't have a problem with it either for several reasons:
1. They got a 2 for 1 out of the deal. If Oklahoma can humble itself to visit Yulman Stadium (Tulane) in exchange for a 2 for 1 then Miss State damn sure can.
2. This is the exact date in which Tulane cancelled on Miss State. Miss State got a 2 for 1 with an opponent with less than a months negotation thats pretty good.
3. Miss State and the SEC will get exposure (although not much of it) in the Boston area. The game is being played at the Patriots stadium.
4. Miss State helping UMASS out after they changed conferences and had a schedule to fill. Texas A&M had to visit LaTech for a similar reason.

Better watch out for those New England teams

I like it, game in New England patriots stadium. What's embarrassing is Missouri going to Ark state this fall, should have moved that game to St louis.

All SEC schools have weak OOC schedules. MSU just usually plays one more cupcake than most.

Because you are still travelling to play UMASS.

Poor UMass. That just sucks.

The nature of OOC games is changing. I think Arkansas scheduled some of their Little Rock games as neutral site games where they were the "visiting" team so that the schools they were playing could count the attendance towards their home total. Smaller schools are looking to get big programs to drop by their home field to boost attendance and gain some national attention.
I wouldn't be surprised if more 2-1 schedules appear in the future and even if some SEC powerhouses sign onto them.

It's a 2 for 1 and we get to play in Gilette Stadium. Sorry we couldn't schedule Presbyterian. Plus it gets our brand out there in the northeast. Considering Tulane fricked us I think this worked out pretty well.

I'm sure MSU fans will be really happy when this type of scheduling they've become known for disappears. It's awfully embarrassing.
Didn't you frick sticks lose to ULM?
