State's trying to lock down all the recruits in Amherst? Interesting strategy.

Disappointed in MSU here. I think that, as a program, they've risen above the level of scheduling primarily OOC cupcakes and can afford to get a little more risky. According to fbschedules, Texas Tech was available. Would have been a good, challenging, and winnable game.

According to multiple athletic department sources, UMass is expected to announce Monday afternoon a series between the Minutemen and Bulldogs beginning Sept. 24, 2016, at Gillette Stadium.

The game is part of a two-for-one contract between the two schools.
UMass will visit Starkville, Mississippi, on Sept. 23, 2017 and Oct. 17, 2020.

The Bulldogs will be the second Southeastern Conference team the Minutemen have hosted. Vanderbilt visited Gillette in 2013.

I see no problem with this. They probably don't have to pay UMass hardly anything for the two games in Starkville since they are willing to go to Gillette and will get some good exposure in an area that normally wouldn't have them on the radar.

Their OoC schedule is actually really picking up starting in '16, with @BYU. They have a solid opponent lined up every year after that for like the next ten years.

I'm sure MSU fans will be really happy when this type of scheduling they've become known for disappears. It's awfully embarrassing.

I am not embarrassed by our transformation into a football juggernaut.

People just a want a reason to shite on somebody. I really don't see a problem nor am I embarrassed by it.

We schedule cupcakes because we will have our chance to play opponents to prove ourselves during SEC play. It's not like our schedule is nothing but cupcakes and we build up a false ranking like Notre Dame.

I'm sure you would have this exact same reaction if it were A&M making this move.

I'm not sure why people get their dicks hard to this. If we suck and can only beat cupcake teams that we schedule OOC, then just beat the shite out of us when we play one another.

We do. But it's also fun to make fun of you for scheduling away games against UMass.

I'm excited about this. My dad lives in Connecticut, just 100 miles away from Gillette Stadium. We're going to have fun going to the game together.

Yeah this is not a big deal imo.

State gets two home games/play in an NFL stadium/get exposure in the northeast/state fans get a better reason to visit the northeast.

I kinda wish Bama would get more aggressive on scheduling in different parts of the country.
