We're trying to get a hotel room on Canal so we don't have to drive from Uptown again. I can't wait. That time of year is always in between me finishing summer work and school, and is most conductive for me to be an idiot.

How many of y'all are coming? Good friend of mine is a sales coordinator at the Marriott on Canal.

Blanton's is good, but there are a lot better for much cheaper. Not to steer you away. If you like Blanton's and $$$ ain't a thing, go for it.

was about to say I had this once and it was delicious...Found it in Memphis and it costed 60 bucks. Little to out of my league but I bought it to celebrate my buddy's restaurant opening.

Pretty cool bottle though...

My problem is I've tried every bourbon in Tupelo.

The Four Roses Small Batch is good, yes; if you're gonna go that route, however, pony up the extra $7 or so and get the single barrel.

I'll keep an eye out but I don't think anyone carries that in Tupelo. Pretty much tried every bourbon carried in this town.

12+ some people will prob insist on cabbing it back uptown but frick that. The way to go is Beach, Pat O's during the day, and Harrah's/Penthouse after a nap.

Have you tried Angel's Envy? Finally found a bottle. Been looking for a year. Found it in fricking Rouse's of all places. Went to have a "taster" drink that night. Bottle was wiped within 24 hours. Amazing stuff for 46 bucks. Lot better than Blantons IMO, but tough to find.

Jefferson's presidential Select was pretty good. Bottle says its an 18-year old.

Eagle Rare was pretty good as well. Few places here carry it.

I'll ask tonight and see how many rooms need to be reserved to get a discount.

Then again, it's a nice hotel so it's probably already expensive.

I can't blame your friends for leaving. After spending seven drunken, hazy August hours on Bourbon Street, some cold beers at Fat's followed by cheese fries and pool table dancing at F&M's sounds nice.

That's a tasty bourbon.

Bought that for myself for my 23rd birthday.

They fly. TA, I and the other workers would wait for the owner to leave and buy part of the case. They usually were off the shelf in a day or two.

I haven't. Just not much of a selection in this area. Has to be a high volume brand for most to carry it.

We did F&Ms the night before and got back around 4. Woke up at 8 probably still drunk. Those cheese fries are amazing and surprisingly enough didn't make me shite my brains out.

Also

We stayed at the Mariott for the New Orleans Bowl, can't beat that location.

When you're drunk and getting hangry, those cheese fries are miraculous. Plus, they're a great way to meet the womenz.

Ever ventured to Snake & Jake's or Mae's?

I took a slump buster home from
F&M's the week after RDR. It was a classic.

Been to Snake and Jake's, not Mae's. It's always great to pound some heaters and Schlitz and watch every dude in the bar strike out for the last time of the night with the 4-5 chicks there.
