I hate to say this but Alabama beaches are second to none as well
Second to none if Florida or California are not included. I'd take Gulf Shores east to Orange over Biloxi-Gulfport, but once you hit Florida it turns into another level of Beach-Ocean..................

Didn't read, but based on the thread title you're definitely a pig with an oink. Good on you.

And because Georgia stole the moniker "Peach State" despite the fact we grow more peaches. Not really but I love to point that out. We used to be the Iodine State.

I'm going to need some cred points for knowing that bit of trivia It's amazing what you learn when you listen to the recorded audio tour on the ferry to and from Fort Sumter.

The only way I'm ever going to Alabama or Mississippi is if I'm driving right through.

That's great, I feel the same about South Carolina.

Funny you say that because we spent the week of Spring Break in Charleston. You could stop most places in South Carolina or Mississippi and could not tell which state you are in. Want to use Charleston as the qualifier? We have Natchez and Vicksburg that are just as scenic and historic. Want to use Sullivan's Island or Isle of Palms? We have Ocean Drive in Biloxi and Ocean Springs. Want to use Fort Sumter? We have Fort Massachusetts. Your only saving grace is you have the banking center of the US to the north of your state and the commerce center of the south to the south of you. We have Louisiana and Alabama

I'm not knocking South carolina because where ever you are in sC feels like home to Mississippi people. For you to claim superiority is obtuse on your part.

Yeah I'm trying to get out ASAP. Might be moving to California soon. Job sucks, hate living here - time for a change.

Not sure what's funny. California is fricking awesome. A buddy of mine says I can crash at his place until I get a job.

Yes I always feel like I'm in Mississippi when in SC! It's amazing how much alike those stars are!
Except South Carolonians always seem much more stupider. Ya know?

Somebody might need to tell him about California and the state it is in now. Good luck with that move.

I'm sick of my job. Each day is one day closer to me just saying frick it and walking out. I live in a nice apartment but it's too expensive, but I don't want to get a house because I don't want that type of asset holding me down. My lease is up at the end of May and I see no better time to do it than now. Life after college sure fricking sucks... and I've been learning this for seven years now. Late twenties blow.

Yeah regardless of if you are from MS or SC if you are miserable in the state you are in that speaks more to you than the state itself. SC, especially around Charleston, is booming with high tech manufacturing jobs that would put them in the upper levels of SC or MS's average income. The Boing plant is especially nice. If you make good money in MS you can't beat the cost of living. If he can't find a good job in SC his chances are even worse in CA and the cost of living will be 3 times higher.

I would be jealous of anything "Mississippi" if I lived in that God forsaken hellhole called Arkansas.

And that's beside the fact that your state gave us Bill and Hillary. If Arkansas fell into a giant sinkhole (save Stuttgart and Pine Bluff) it would go unnoticed.
