Other than how demeaning the State fans were towards A&M's program leading up to the throttling we gave them, I really like State. Which is why I hate to tell them they stand no chance. I really think Okie State covers.

Well, I would assume they are gonna bring more than State. I know they traveled well to the CB a few years back and I would figure the Houston metroplex would have more ppl with OSU ties.

I could be wrong though.

***This is the part where Bundy, mEngie, and MaroonNation tell me that Houston, Texas has one of the largest MSU alumni chapters.***

shite TON of alums in Houston area. Huge contingent of students from Houston come to OSU every year.

Gundy's gonna whip the everliving hell out of MSU and not even mess his hair up. He's been jonesing to get at the SEC for 2 years, it's gonna be a thuggin' and buggin' style of beatdown.

in the rant it is widely believed OSU has some huge fan base and continually ignores that

- their home attendance record is 58k while they have a 60k seat stadium. They've only even broken 55k 9 times in history. MSU's has more and their stadium officially seats 55
- Houston is about equidistant from both schools

just let it be

don't disagree but the question is why is it an OSU home game. It's not and I'll actually be mildly surprised if the crowd isn't slightly pro-MSU

Not flaming State fans with this, but they're not known for their traveling. When we played OSU in the Cotton Bowl they brought a shite ton of fans both times. I don't see why this would be any different.

In no way will this be remotely close to a home game for OSU. I see pretty much an even split.

It's like an hour difference in OK State's favor. Butnlikebyou said, this won't make a bit of difference, State could end up bringing more. I think they have a lot of Alumni living in Houston

Well one reason it would be quite a bit different is that Houston is an extra 4 hours give or take than Dallas (making it an 8+ hr drive from stillwater), and the other reason would be that its a regular season game vs. a Cotton bowl.

this is all true but it also seems Okie Light fans would have more enthusiasm for this year than the State fans.

It's different because Houston is not Dallas and this is not a bowl game. Using individual bowl games as a guide is not as relevant to a regular season matchup as the history of every single regular season game in their programs history. OSU doesn't travel to road games. They regularly returned tickets to us and we are about an hour outside of Houston. We only gave out 4k visitor tickets in the Big 12. The closest info I could find was from 2009 - they were allotted 3850 tickets. They returned 2400 of them. That's absurd. If you think MSU doesn't travel, you have no idea.

And while you may feel like they traveled well to the CB, your last game vs OSU was the lowest CB attendance since they moved to Jerryworld and 10k below the year before when you played Tech. And each time you played OSU that was literally their best ever bowl game and season. Ever. And ever.

IMO the Oklahoma State hype is largely typical talking head bullshite. No one that has actually looked at what they lost are expecting them to be better than last year -- they should be worse. Got absolutely murdered in the trenches by graduation.

They lost 4 OL starters -- and the one returner is being shifted from right tackle to right guard.

That's a recipe for disaster against a decent pass rush early in a season, which we are expected to have this year. Those factors should go a long way toward neutralizing the advantage their receivers have over our corners. We should be able to move the ball on the ground and slow the pace down to limit scoring.

No way this line holds at 14.

They also have a pretty big advantage with their secondary against your wide receivers.

I actually think this one could go either way.

When Tyler Russell's on his game, he's a really good QB. He just needs to be consistent and State's defense has to be good enough to get some stops.

If they limit the errors that killed them in games last year, they could pull off the upset.

I agree with Poster that St. wins close or it is a blowout by OSU. I just don't know what St. brings to the dance.

Yeah but a shite ton of Ok State fans is about 15k tops.

I'm trying to think of a smaller fanbase in the Big 12. Baylor & TCU now?

Hilarious.

We are absolutely trembling about that #113 pass defense they are returning...

Remember how the Texas game went for Ole Miss last year? Well this game will be a lot like that one. Except, year 5 under Mullen following an 8 win season, not year 1 following a 2 win season.
