State is now in a position to make its biggest and boldest move ever on Ole Miss, and thereby establish themselves top of the totem pole in the state. If State has a good year this year and a couple years afterwards, then a firm foundation can be established for many years into the future. Mullen might not want to seek a HC elsewhere like he does every year it seems. This is going to be fascinating to watch.

Unless they win a national title somehow, nothing will change long term.

You're right. State had a chance to do this in the late 80's when Ole Miss was hit with probation, but we had freakin' Rocky Felker leading the show. Then again in the mid-90's the Rebels were hit hard, Tubby was hired, but we didn't go for the kill. I actually think Jackie underestimated those bastards and started taking it easy thinking they were done for. This time I think Mullen goes for the kill. Maybe, the 3rd time is the charm.

Probably going to be a brawl. How interesting that will be.

MSU aint doing shite.

Hughes at JSU stands more to gain than Mullen.

SWAC is fricked.

has Starkville got any downtown french terrace balconies to eat a cheeseburger on before for the game?

I've been to a pharmacy in Starkville once and that's all I remember

Not a troll, but I think if state had any other Coach but mullin, they would crush us. Marlins seems to be a difficult person who has issues building relationships and keeping assistants who forge ties with schools in Mississippi.

He does seem to be attached to jobs every year. Even state fans seem to be getting of his act.

I mean he beat ole miss so all is well now, but overall, I Remember a lot of grumbling, especially after the south alabama debacle.
