State's defense is legitimately good. Ranked top 10 despite the two blowouts. Held Guice in check. It's going to be tough sledding for A&M's offense, I believe.

Wasn't Guice hurt? Didn't Stidham abuse the cowbell?

Exactly if anything they have regressed since then, look good against Kentucky but nobody else the last couple of weeks. Not saying A&M are some world beaters but we have already seen better with Alabama, Florida and USC.

State is giving up 361.3 yards per game, 6.37 yards per play, and 23.5 points per game in conference play.

A&M is giving up 365.5 yards per game, 5.58 yards per play, and 26 points per game in conference play

Of course Guice was hurt. It's the only logical reason in LSU's mind that they could lose that game. He was healthy enough to play and he was contained.

State shite the bed against Auburn. I don't get your point there. A&M isn't nearly as dynamic offensively as Auburn.

Yes their defense is better. Florida sucks but that's because of their offense. USC has kept pretty much every game low scoring and have better pass rushers.

Both of those teams have better defenses than MSU, I think. It's close.

I just checked the stats - it's not debatable that UF and USCe have better defenses in terms of stats right now. Both have given up fewer yards, yards per pay, etc.

UGA exposed and AU abused a weakness in our secondary. DB's were playing way too agressive and biting on everything, as a result we were routinely giving up long balls and it really affected all areas of the defense. It looks to have been corrected over the bye week.

*Knocks on wood.

Disclaimer: If the secondary stays disciplined, we will win without question. If they don't, A&M will win, without question.

I'll give you Alabama, but Florida and USC? C'mon, man.

Are we really saying that Florida and USC are better?

Defensively, yes. The stats back up that claim.

Also - I think A&M's defense is playing better right now. Defensively, we've improved a LOT over the course of the year. (Offensively, we have not.)

I mean he was definitely hurt. Guice finally was close to 100% for the time first this year against Ole Miss. He's missed several games and played on one leg in several others.

Personally i think the spread is wrong as well. A&M at home should be favored by at least a TD.

You have to look at the season as a whole, and recognize that outside of the UGA/AU games our defense is statistically one of the best in the country.

This really goes one of two ways. The issues that UGA exposed pop back up and you score a lot, or our secondary plays well and you don't score much at all. There is no in-between, it's why literally all of our games have been blow outs one way or the other.

On defense yes, facts back this up at this point in the season.

It's not debatable?

The most dynamic offense USC has faced is NC State. The most dynamic offense Florida has faced is Michigan. State's stats include Auburn and Georgia.

If State played either of those schedules to this point, they'd be likely undefeated. They'd be 6-1 against A&M's schedule.

What decent offenses have you played, outside of those games?

I'm not predicting a win over A&M at night on Kyle Field, but one thing I have seen is Chavis shitting the bed against offenses like State.

Not at all. State is #8 in the NCAA in total defense. Florida is #36 and South Carolina is #52.

In conference play, both of those teams have statistically better defenses than State. That's simply a fact. Would you like me to post the defensive stats for conference play?

Not exactly. The teams that could handle Simmons up front hurt us. Bad. The teams that couldn't handle Jeffrey Simmons saw their gameplan collapse quickly. It sounds too simplistic, but that's where it all begins. If Simmons can collapse the interior and live in the backfield then MSU feasts.
