It's possible. I think If they beat arky then they will drop one of the easier games. Their depth takes a toll as the season progresses.

lulzers
The team that went 2-6 in the SEC last year, returns a total of 13 starters (T-11th in the SEC & T-81st in the country) is magically going to improve by leaps & bounds to 9/10 wins this year?

depends on how you look at it
that stat is very deceiving
one site will say we are eleventh in the sec. the next will say fifth. either way, we are way deeper than last year and you can deal with it.

Kind of like going from 5-7 to 9-4, eh?

So last year you guys were going to win because you returned more starters than anybody else. This year it's because it's your deepest team ever.
What is it going to be next year, at least pre season grinding reasons that is

5-7 was far out of the norm for Auburn
8-5 is status quo or better than for MSU

no I am not saying that is why we will win. I am saying you should stop acting like we lost 8 starters. I mean yeah we lost Relf. He would be third string this year. See what I mean? I mean if you lost a starter the third game of the season, you probably shouldn't count him as losing a starter from last season. Know what I'm saying?

It's possible. They have 7 probable wins, 2 probable losses, and the Auburn, Texas A&M and Arkansas games will decide where they fall on the spectrum of 7-5 to 10-2.

Cant wait for Moo St. fans to beat thier chest over defeating Jackson St during the run-up to the Auburn. Then they will have thier hearts broken again. Always a good way to start the season.

State's going to be pretty good in 2012. Its going to be the best defense Mullen has had since arriving at State.
Questions will be:
the OL- can Tobias Smith recover from his knee injury and play a full season? He is a road grater but has had trouble staying healthy- He was healthy in 2010, we need that this year. The tackles? Is the juco guy (Siddoway) really as good as advertised and is Clausell ready for a full season at LT after making a few starts last season.
QB?- is Russell ready to play full-time now? This Spring says he is (and we are tweaking the offense for him)
Safety?- Can Nickoe Whitley recover from his Achilles injury? We have 3 quality SEC CB's but only one known quality safety- what adjustments will be made to sort the situation out?
Strengths?
WR- everybody returns from last season
RB- we have more depth and will be better all-around
DL- We have 5 DT's that can play- very rare for a State team- got to find a 4th DE though
LB- this group will be as good as 2010's was
Got to go the safe route and say 8-4, but if we get Auburn, it's 9-3 baby!!!
