Sly Croom wanted it for damn sure.

Yeah, that would have worked out well.

Second, Mal Moore stupidly limited the choices to Bama alums only

What serious non-Bama alum wanted it?

Alabama damn sure could have hired an innovative guy like Norm Chow

Yeah, you've got to be pretty damn innovative to go 10-36 in a shitty conference, while recruiting to one of the most gorgeous places, with the hottest babes, on the planet.

That's a good question. He was so close to snatching Tebow. Had that happened, I don't think he would have been fired from UA.

Really good "what if"

Dude if you cannot remember back to 2002 I am sorry. Norm Chow, Randy Shannon and Jimbo Fisher were some of the hottest assistant coaches at the time. I am not saying they would have been good at Bama I am saying they would have taken the job

"Dude"...one of us can't remember 2002, that's for certain.

Norm Chow? He didn't get a head job for 10 more years...although he did get one offer in 2002...to go to Kentucky.

Randy Shannon? He didn't get hired for 5 more years.

And Fisher? He didn't even get the HCIW gig at FSU until 2007. Hell, the flirtation with UAB wasn't until 2006.

The notion that back in 2002 Chow, Shannon, and Fisher were hot commodities that schools were lining up to interview is an absolute joke.

Which means what, exactly? Nothing

Tell me who wanted to hire them to be a head coach. Go head. I'll wait.
