LSU was lucky they got a coach that continually expanded on nick Sabans success

Who was smart enough to build on the foundation that DiNardo laid down.

That won't fly here but this needs to be preached more on TD. Coach Dinardo, even though an outsider, understood what the fanbase needed as well as any. That "Bring back the Magic" woke the dead. Then actually doing it with 95 AU and 97 UF to name a couple. We owe him a lot.

Dinardo did deserve to get fired (for sticking with Booty and hiring Tepper) but LSU fans everywhere owe him an enormous debt for the players he recruited, Louisiana schools he reached out to, and opportunity he left behind - he and Nick Saban changed LSU for the better as a program in the time they were there

Look how many teams that have won it all that havn't maintained:

Texas
Southern Cal
Fla. (I know yall will be back)
tOSU
OU
Fla.st. (Oh lord half my friends wanted Jumbo. He is RC Slocum. Has the schedule and the talent to run it but will lose to a 15 pt dog every year.)
Nebraska
Miami
Michigan
Notre Dame

The whole its easy to win at LSU is such a joke. You don't think its easy at Southern Cal. My God they have every advantage known to man AND the best talent in the country. Wonder why they suck?

Notre Dame whines about academic standards - bs - they get great recruits every year and have as a recruiter ESPN and NBC. Wonder why they sucked for 15 years.

Miles in my opinion has earned a couple of bad years - the run he and Saban are on with developing NFL talent is absurd,

They are different - But they both produce a winning culture and they win.

F the Miles haters.

i guess it depends on your definition of back, UF did finish with a better record (11-2) than lsu (10-3) last year and we beat them head2head, so the question is when will lsu be back?

It was amazing how quickly he turned LSU around. Dinardo just couldn't maintain the success he achieved early on. He absolutely laid the foundation though. LSU's 2001 SEC Title team is a tribute to him.

y'all basically checked out for the 10 and 11 seasons.

LSU hasn't gone anywhere so take his "I know y'all will be back" comment for exactly what it is....a complement.

And this folks, is why computers should not decide our rankings. Computers have bigger bias than people. Wait, programming is done by people. Nevermind.

Shaw is the HC at Stanford.

OBC is not on this list because he went to SC. It took him awhile to get them to where they are now.

7-12 over the two years prior to Saban's arrival is certainly a foundation I would be proud of.

So, we're supposed to believe that Butch Jones is the fourth best coach in the country?

foundation as in recruiting. DiNardo let a lot of big fish leave the state but he still stocked the cupboard for Saban.

I know I'm an Arkansas fan and have the requisite 'homer'bias, but I really do believe that BB was a tremendous hire for us.

Considering he's not won a NC and got blown out by a team he almost faced in the NC game.....yes.
