A&M has had a very good men's club soccer program for years. My brother played and coached for the team during the late 90' early 2000's.

Aren't the insurance rates really high on it or something? And you'd have to build facilities from scratch.

insurance I hear is one of the reasons men's wrestling and gymnastics often got the axe. From programs numbering hundreds in the 1970s to literally enough to justify remaining an NCAA Sport.

As far as A&M Gymnastics.... The powers of college W gym, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, UCLA, OU, Utah.... they all pull in girls from Texas. At the national championships, there's usually enough athletes from Texas that they could form their own competitive team.

Any D1 team from Texas that added W gymnastics and hired a competent coach would be nationally competitive within 3 years. And I think that scares some of the blue bloods.... Especially defending champion, Oklahoma, who live and die with Texas recruits.
