Few if any media people bring down film. The skill position guys will sort things out at the end of the season based on stats alone, however arguments will still occur. OLs and defensive players will still be a crap shoot based on reputation or with a few media members looking at projected draft potential not film.

For what it is worth, Dupree may be one of the best WRs this year, but I agree has no business on the ALL SEC preseason team.

He also forgot to put DeRunnya Wilson's stats in there for comparison. There are several op notch WR's in the league right now that you could make a case for.

I aded DeRunnya Wilson's stats. Josh Reynolds exceeded him in every category.

Josh Reynolds scored almost as many TD's as DeRunnya Wilson and D'Haguille Williams combined.

Josh Reynolds did this while playing on a team that broke in 2 new starting QB's and which spreads the ball around. You have to get open before you can catch, and based on Reynold's stats he was getting wfoa lot.

The media just can't accept that a guy who was a 2 star HS recruit is worthy of All-SEC.

Engram ahead of Hunter Henry is just laughable. Hell, Engram is not even a real TE, just a big WR lined up at TE.

Ok then what about NFL scouts that say he's a first rounder?

Completely irrelevant, as picking the All-SEC team has nothing to do with NFL draft stock - but how players perform on the field compared to the rest of the players at their position.

Nkemdiche is average at best in that regard.

I mean, sorry that Duke looked 10x more impressive than your guy with fewer opportunities. Duke's highlight reel is better than anybody's and it's obvious he's the best. Anybody with a brain knows last year Auburn ran in short yardage to pick up TD's while aTm passed. Stats don't tell the whole story, and this isn't a best stats list.

No way Jeremey Johnson deserves to be 1st,2rd ,or 3rd team pre-season teams. He has done as much as any of the other question mark quarterbacks , that haven't played any significant time. this is all Auburn & media hype.

Huge slap to Dobbs, Maty, & Brandon Allen.

Now... JJ MAY be the next coming, and be on his way to 1st team honors, undefeated season, Sec West title, SEC title, NC champ, Heisman, & MVP.

But at this point NOTHING he has shown , should place him above the other returning starters.

Brandon Allen is your argument?
Career completion percentage of 52% Brandon Allen?
BA doesn't deserve to be 14th team All-SEC

I'm certainly not denying that Lawson has potential to be a star, and believe me, I wanted him at UT coming out of high school. But at this point in Lawson's career, he's been a backup one year and out with an injury the other. Just can't justify putting him above the league leader in TFL last year.

I'm happy Pharoh Cooper is listed on that list an impressive 3 times...

He should be 1st team over Williams though...

And anyone that thinks Brandon Allen deserves some kind of recognition clearly hasn't actually watched him play. He's awful, but is great at handing the ball off.

My point wasn't BA was a world beater, but he actually has played SEC games that matter.

I get excited when my guy catches the ball and scores. Josh Reynolds caught 6 more balls, had the same ypc and 2.5 x more TD's. A number of the TD's were long balls.

You win games for your team by crossing the goal line. An "impressive highlight reel" is good for moral victories.

Can spin it, has an experienced OL, a standout wr and is in a qb friendly system. Maybe he doesn't deserve to be on a preseason list but he is going to put up bigger numbers than any of those you listed.

He's going to be really good, but I don't believe he puts up better numbers than Kyle Allen or Dobbs.

1) Dobbs put up 1675 total yards and 17 total TDs in 6 games. He didn't get to pad his stats with Arkansas St, Utah St, or Chattanooga. Along with horrible OL, often injured WRs, and his own inexperience, he still put up crazy numbers.

2) Allen is in a system built for huge passing numbers. His WR corps is loaded! As a true freshman, he put up 1058 pass yards and 13 TDs in his first 5 starts looking great against Auburn, Mizzu and West Virginia. He's going to pad his stats all year in that offense.
