I'm admittedly a little biased, but I think most of us can agree that Carl Lawson over Derek Barnett is a goddamn joke.

Everybody wants to see all their guys on there but the only one I will say should be there for LSU is OL Pocic. He's played, dominated, and is only a Jr.

I mean he was solid, but I would hardly say he dominated. Especially early on, he was just not that good against Wisconsin... I am glad he will finally have a single position to play cause I think jumping all over the line kind of halted his progress. Will be very good going forward, but he has not earned preseason all-sec talk

I also can't believe people actually think that Dupre deserves to be on this list. Don't get me wrong, he has all the talent in the world, and certainly has the potential to be 1st team next year. But he had a few good plays last year and that is it. Who are you going to put him ahead of on this list? The top 4 are great WRs, the third team is also very good, and have out produced Dupre thus far.

The same reason there were 5 media members that didn't have Nick Chubb on their 1st team offense. They're dumb as shite.

Yep. I saw a media member, who has a vote in this, say last year that he couldn't even name 5 players off every single SEC team. He wasn't speaking in regards to voting but rather something else but that admission clearly shows his voting capabilities are poor.

Ok then what about NFL scouts that say he's a first rounder?

DL Robert Nkemdiche, Ole Miss (173)

DL Carl Lawson, Auburn (131)

Proof that the media stops watching after the final recruit rankings are released. At least this is a fresh reminder of what could have been.

How is Carl Lawson a 1st team selection over Derek Barnett?

That and Cooper not on first team are the biggest WTFs? Also O.J. Howard on a pre season list really? I would have put the Vanderbilt guy. At least he gets utilized and will be utilized because of the Stanford type system.

Lawson was out all last year and his one season was only half as good as Barnett's. This seems more like a favoritism list.

ETA: I didn't even think about it, but Jeremy Johnson 2nd team really? He hasn't even done anything yet. One of the Allens, Dobbs, Mauk, or Towles should have been on there.

Anytime the media is involved, that's what you're going to get.

Agreed. Barnett should absolutely be first team All-SEC, and he will be on the one that counts after the season.

Which of the four would you argue?

I could argue Tony Conner should belong on 1st team instead of 2nd

You could easily argue 2nd team for Nkemdiche and 2nd or 3rd for Treadwell. Healthy Treadwell is maybe a 1st team player over Cooper and Williams, coming off an injury he definitely is not.

Cyrua Jones was second team last year. Not that big a stretch to be first team this year. He's a solid cb.

Not taking anything away from Barnett because he is a beast but Lawson did play behind a 1st round draft pick in Dee Ford so he didn't get as many snaps as Barnett.

The first team offense is pretty on point. Everything else is debatable. Especially the defenses look questionable

Jeremy Johnson

Can spin it, has an experienced OL, a standout wr and is in a qb friendly system. Maybe he doesn't deserve to be on a preseason list but he is going to put up bigger numbers than any of those you listed.
