I wonder how good LSU would be if we had that kind of talent...

There's a real lack of understanding of how depth helps a team. Miles did an incredible job last year of grooming that freshman class; this year, LSU simply overwhelms everyone in the second half.

Travis Daniels not Randall Gay
well, gay came in the illinois sugar bowl game and played very well. that burned his redshirt, iirc

I believe it was Randall Gay that burned his redshirt in the 2001 SEC Championship at LSU.

Travis Daniels, had a pass break up in the end zone with a 4 point lead.

That there were three national award finalists occupying the positions that these three 5*s play just shows the depth of talent at ALABAMA. The scary part is that this year's class has a chance to be special.

Hoe much more talent will it take Saban to beat Miles?

Clear example of how recruiting sites jack up the rating when Bama offers.

You saying Miles is a better coach than Sabin because he wins with less talent?

Well your coaches did a horrible job last year. Y'all had all those first rounders and all of this years team and lost 3 games. Man your coaching staff is overrated.

Good lord at the insecure people in the back half of this thread. No one said a damn thing about LSU.

Again you are putting way too much emphasis on star ratings. Stars show potential in athletic ability nothing more. 5 stars rarely play right away especially at key spots, name the last 5 star QB to step in at the SEC level straight form HS and perform well. Auburn had one of the best offensive line classes in 2007 and they performed well for freshmen but still struggled badly.

You never want to have to put freshmen out there against seniors, using one here and there is ok but in general noone wants to do that, look at AU this year as a reason why.

C'mon man. You have a level head on your shoulder, it seems. Even you have to laugh at the Dee Hart comments in this thread. Going from a freshman RB that hasn't even touched the ball in a live game to probably leaving early for the NFL draft because Saban praised him and he was third string in the spring.

By that logic, I guess LSU can expect HUGE things from Stephen Rivers.

You have to laugh at alot of things your brethren posts at time.

I thought the premise of this thread was actually interesting. Though, I can't help that some Alabama fans started making wild predictions and that some LSU fans started to flame the thread for no real reason.

Any thread about the SEC, is really a thread about LSU.

With such overwhelming talent at Bama, it makes it that much funnier to watch Saban get outcoached over and over again by Les Miles.

The premise of this thread is bunk. Depth is measured by the players who get on the field, not by the players who don't.

As a matter of fact, Bama's defense will experience a HUGE dropoff next year, as you lose 5 seniors and probably 2 EE juniors (Kirkpatrick and Hightower).

The fact is that this was a special year for Bama because their defense matured together as a group, not because they have incredible depth in the freshman and sophomore classes.

You had better hope that players like Milliner, Dickson, Hubbard, and Clinton-Dix are as good as advertised, because you will need them next year. They have very little experience - so even if they are talented it will take at least a year of growing pains for them to solidify as a unit.

LSU, meanwhile, might be better on D.

No shite

I'd bet 95% of the motivation behind this thread was to brag about Bama's depth, as if they're depth is unheard of.

I guess he sells championships and NFL preparation.

Sooner or later, these recruits will realize he's coming up SHORT..no pun intended...
