I'm sorry that Leonard's best games were against some of the worst defenses in college football. He's a damn good RB. It just seems like if you guys were right, he would have some kind of hardware. Anything. Somehow Derrick ended up with all of it.

Well, he was the NCAA rushing champion.

Consensus first team all America.

All-SEC first team.

SEC offensive player of the week 3 times in 2015.

All-SEC freshman team in 2014.

SEC freshman of the week 3 times in 2014.

The Heisman is an award for the feature RB or the QB on a playoff or championship bound team. It's a dog and pony show. Congrats to Henry.

That's a hell of a list. So the Heisman sucks. I guess so do the Maxwell, the Doak, Walter Camp, SEC POTY, etc. You do realize we're both just homers, but all of the arguments lean heavily towards my dude, right? I mean, every award you listed for Leonard, Henry also got on top of the real trophies. Would have easily been "rushing champion lol", but he sat against scrubs that weren't even as bad on defense as Leonard's money games.

Fair comparison for Henry and Fournette would be this year considering Henry was a junior last year. I don't recall what Henry did his sophomore year though.

I'd pick Fournette with my team. However, in a more diverse offense I'd probably go with McCaffrey

I agree with you. Fournette is definitely a great talent. but is it any more ignorant for them to say that about Fournette than it is for some LSU posters to say similar things about Henry? It's very difficult to say any running back (or any other position for that matter) is betetr than another because of different offensive schemes, OL, complementing pieces offensively, etc. Any running back would look good behind Alabama's OL, but that doesn't say Henry is not good. Henry was great last season. Fournette was great last season, too.

I know this is the SEC Rant, and it's going to be highly sensitive to anything regarding LSU, but Alabama fans here have been ragging on Fournette since he didn't sign with Alabama. It wouldn't be any different if Henry ran for half as many yards last year.

I'm pretty sure Leonard has started more games than Henry. As a sophomore backup, Henry had like 990 5.8 and 11 TDs.

This is conjecture at best, and categorically false at worst.

I'm a homer. You're a hack. There is a difference.

Right. Because you dissing every major award while puffing up a couple of "player of the week"s is totally not hackish. I guess you just really need to hear me say Leonard is a better football player than Henry, but it ain't gonna happen. Let's just agree to disagree.

Leonard is a baller. Never said otherwise.

Everything you've said on him suggests otherwise.

Actually.....if Fournette played behind Alabama's OL he might have rushed for more yards than henry did last season.

As good a running back as Henry was, I wonder if he wouldn't have been even better at LB. Would have been interesting to see him there.

He ran behind the best o line in the country until they played Alabama.

I'd take McCaffrey. Bama already has a back in the mold (not saying as good as, calm down LSU fans) of LF7. Tide doesn't really have a back like McCaffrey. And if he were on the team, you wouldn't have to have Ridley returning kicks risking injury.

I'll take the black guy who doesn't have an major injury track record.

Ah, frick it, who am I kidding? I'll take any of them and be grateful for the chance to have an offense that doesn't resemble a Silly String fight on a plume ride.

How many have seen McCaffery actually play a game?

I know you're mocking, but that O-line was great for most of the season.

Well, I saw him three times. The first was against USC and I didn't know to keep an eye on him, so I don't specifically recall his performance. I just remember that the running game was pretty good but not particularly memorable. The second was against Oregon, and by then I knew he was a legit Heisman candidate. I recall being reasonably impressed but kind of disappointed that he wasn't particularly electric. The last was the bowl against Iowa and he looked pretty damned good. Of course, Iowa looked completely hapless, but that was no surprise -- they always were on the brink of crashing. That team was in no way as good as their record.
