Yeah, Samford has one of the best pharmacy programs in the state if I'm not mistaken and I've never heard of any friction with Auburn. Maybe it's them stopping USA

IDK - but TutHillTiger is all ATPB, I'm sure the thinks he knows all of the inner workings in this state.

You are willfully blind so I am done arguing with a stump.

A quick google search shows plenty of evidence, unlike a wordpress article you linked for AUM which has less than 5k students.

Alabama BoT member kills turf project

quote:

After a local business owner pledged money last spring to pay for the installation of artificial turf on one of UAB's football practice fields, UA System trustee Finis St. John shot down the plan, according to two UAB boosters.

The money was part of a $1 million pledge.

One of the boosters, Adam S. Cohen, said a vendor had already been selected to install the turf, but he received a phone call from UAB Athletics Director Brian Mackin telling him of St. John's refusal to let the project move forward.

"Brian Mackin called me and said he had been informed by Finis St. John, or Fess St. John, that he will not be allowed to move forward with the project of putting turf on the practice field," Cohen told AL.com.After a local business owner pledged money last spring to pay for the installation of artificial turf on one of UAB's football practice fields, UA System trustee Finis St. John shot down the plan, according to two UAB boosters.

Recognition of UA BoT meddling

quote:

It is hard for UAB supporters - for city of Birmingham supporters - to look to Tuscaloosa and the Board of Trustees (the board of distrustees, as they have come to be known) and not burst into flames.

They've heard taped conversations of how UAB's athletic department had to secretly run coaching decisions by trustees Paul Bryant Jr. and Finis St. John. They have heard former UAB Athletics Director Brian Mackin acknowledge on tape - he didn't know he was being taped, apparently - that Bryant has nothing but contempt for UAB football. They've seen the trustees' fingerprints at the scene of crimes too often.

But again, this is proving nothing and it is a done deal anyway. Not even that mad about it, just wish some UA fans would acknowledge UAB got a raw deal --- but I guess that is wishful thinking.

You would be wrong....Bama averaged over 11 thousand fans per game this season and that is with a crap product on the floor.

It's more than LSU and twice as much as Auburn providing yet another reason why the OP is one of the dumbest posters on TRant

There is a preponderance of evidence the BoT meddled in the athletic affairs of UAB.
Who the hell else is supposed to "meddle" in the affairs of UAB if it's not their own Board of Trustees?

How is it that the system's Board of Trustees is "meddling" in their affairs? UAB is part of the system. They are the Board of that system. Overseeing the affiars is meddling?

Micro managing things like new turf is meddling. Imagine if that had happened to Saban.

Again, do you really not think the UA BoT favor Tuscaloosa over UAB and UAH???

The argument about the football is just an academic endeavor at this point. The bigger issue has, and always be about the future of UAB as a University.

It has been fun going down memory lane once again, but sadly I cannot procrastinate on getting work done any longer.

Hope everyone has a good day and enjoys the tournament.

Bama basketball makes money and puts arses in seats.

Which is more than UAB football has been able to do in 20+ years of existance.

I am pretty sure you are full of shite when you say Bammer averaged twice as many fans. I have read that Auburn had the third highest percentage in the SEC when it came to filling their available seating

On TV, you are only seeing the lower seats. Those season tickets get bought by people that just want the Tide Pride points. The tickets are still sold, but the seats aren't always used. We still have a good amount of people that buy the single game tickets which are in the higher seats.

I am pretty sure both teams did pretty damn well in attendance considering the shitshow they both put on the court this season.

IIRC, Auburn averaged a little over 5K per game and can hold only about 8k. Alabama averaged 10-11k and holds over 15k.

A reporter relaying a story told to him by a guy who is relaying a phone call who is relaying another phone call is called hearsay. That is not evidence.

Its an opinion piece. See it in REAL BIG LETTERS right below the headline?

They didn't get a raw deal. Watts did the courageous thing. It would have been easy for him to let the program continue and avoid the negative press

This post really shows how stupid you are.

What is the size of Coleman?
Size of AU's arena?

Good God you are stupid.

I think the AU Arena holds about 9k.... But I doubt Phan understands percentages.

Auburn could have a 100% average attendance and Bama would still have outdrawn them.....

Maybe one of you Bammer tards can post a link showing your shite program drew twice as many fans. I guarantee you won't provide a link because no such link exist. Auburn averaged over 6 thousand fans under Barbee back in 2011 and there is no way in hell those numbers dropped under Pearl
