If we don't say he's the best in the SEC we're trolling right?

These old boys have really gotten sensitive about all their coaching failures over the years. You'd think that they would shut the frick up until they actually had something to brag about, but they just can't help it.

Bert thought Jim Chaney was a better option when he came to Arkansas. Meh

Bert thought Jim Chaney was a better option when he came to Arkansas. Meh

quote:

Bielema, a defensive coach by trade, got more involved with the offense in 2012, at times overruling Canada’s plays and dismissing some of his ideas for sets, sources close to the program told the newspaper.

quote:

The butting of heads came to a head prior to the Big Ten title game, where Canada stood up to the coach and wanted control of the offense. He got that chance, and the result was a 640-yard outing by his unit, including 539 on the ground, in the 70-31 pasting of Nebraska. The Badgers ran plays and formations they had not used all season.

There is not a better OC in the west. None that have been nominated for the Broyles award like Canada

Better is subjective because I would take Enos over every OC in either conference.

He's probably in the 5-7 range in the West as far as offensive ability goes...

Well I guess, unlike Arkansas, it's a damn good thing that the other SEC West teams don't average 40 PPG against our defense.

Best finish, full disclosure, 4th in West. Tie for 3rd would be moonshot goal with O

Yep - got fired right after the Belk Bowl. Mullen made his arse move to Pittsburgh.

I also recall that he was Orgeron's third choice, at best, after Kiffin and Sarkisian.

edit: Orgeron should have hired the OC at Ole Miss, Werner, since he has actually beaten Alabama, twice in the last 3 years. As a turn of fate, Werner is now at Alabama, and will probably be the QB coach by this time next year. If Daboll doesn't work out, Werner may be OC at UA, with Weinke QB coach.

No ones proclaiming anything, they asked a question a reasonable question, what you think of Canada at LSU.

I didn't hear anyone proclaim he was our savior. I just think LSU has had such a long stretch of stank offense that pretty much anyone would inspire hope, much less Canada. It's true that no one knows squat and Bams fans haven't been wrong thanks to Nick Saban and his cheating advantages in recruiting for quite some time so I completely understand the "we'll win no matter what" mantra.

I think LSU starts to turn a corner this year though and O will surprise people. I mean people complained so much and expect nothing so he'll almost have to be successful. I think 2 loses this year, but we will not have a stale offense so teams better figure out how to score against Aranda. Better be at the beginning of the year also because toward the end you just will not score much against his defense. It's easily the second best scheme in the sec and could pass up number one bama real soon. I mean let's not act like we have the depth bama does just yet.

I like this post! It's a great example of the general attitude of the LSU minions at this time. Though still optimistic and defiant, you can see the reality starting to creep into their psyche. I think they're finally coming to grips with the fact that they'll never be more than second fiddle to Alabama on the football field....and that's really not so terrible.

Those are all NFL jobs at terrible teams too.. Anything Saban does, I am all for. I think he has proved himself... at the end of the day, Coach O is your head coach

Wow, thanks for the advice. If it hadn't been for your sensible guidance, we were going to fire him next week if he didn't win a national championship before then.

Seriously, its a bit of the boy who cried wolf at this point. Lets just let it play out on the field but I guess it is the off-season so there has to be something to talk about.
