No comparisons. Stabler is a Pro Hall of Famer and a super bowl winning QB. Stabler might have partied, but he never missed team meetings and workouts.

Plus, Stabler loved women and never beat them up. Same with Namath. Never heard of him lifting a hand to a woman.

Also, Stabler & Namath played in the days before there were rules to protect the QB. They were hit hard and quite often. Manziel would cry like a baby if he was hit like that.

That is what I am saying. So was Stabler for drinking his nose red on the bench. By 27, he had gin blossoms covering his face. That is what heavy liquor drinking can do to some people for some reason.

I'll tell you who used to be really fast before came the panty hose. Namath. He could dunk a basketball in 6th grade and came to Alabama for the first time dressed in a mink coat.

Namath absolutely could not be contained before the devastating knee damage that lasted his entire career. Imagine him running a 4.5, which is what I believe his speed is calculated to have been.
You sound like a Tuscaloosa boy. I'm not a big Stabler fan myself (had a run-in with him when we were both young), but you fail to mention that he was a helluva athlete and excelled at other sports (tremendous baseball pitcher). This, I believe, helped him endure the setbacks caused by his rowdiness (as it did Namath).
PS- Speaking of Namath, imo, he was the 2nd best athlete to ever attend Alabama. He was Pennsylvania all-state in basketball and baseball,too...Charles Cleveland from Brent, Al. was the best athlete to ever play at Alabama.

Sorry my friend, but that's not correct. I know his 1st wife and have personally seen the bruises on her face that he inflicted..she told me he did it.

A helluva player.

About Stabler, I heard that Bryant once said that if they had run the wishbone with him, they would have needed another digit on the scoreboard.

This thread is such blasphemy.
No comparison is even eligible, therefore...no discussion is warranted.
