well lutz did the right thing in not driving himself. The problem was the driver was drunk as could be as well. I don't think it was really needed to post a passengers bac. I also think it was unneeded for a bama fan to act like drinking would make someone less of a leader.

At .37 I dont think any decision was made. He was completely unconscious. Just a really sad event that happens all to often

No, it's the SECr, someone is bound to come in here and say something stupid.

Jesus...did they have to drag him into the car with a BAC that high?

Well I am glad that they did not kill anyone else on the road.

Yes. But why does that matter?

I don't know...maybe if he was less drunk he would have called a cab instead of getting dragged into a car with a drunk driver.

Maybe that what happened and he didn't get buckled in.

Well yeh. Obviously it is never wise to get that drunk. But at this point it happened and there is no use harping on it

Agree with you (won't use the cheers emoticon for now, though).

Lutz was by all accounts a fantastic guy and it is tough when a potentially great leader of our youth dies in an embarassing circumstance like this one. Tragic/trajedy as a description is an understatement.

The BAC published and made for all to see is exactly why I hope this goes away soon. it takes away from his overall character and sends a message that doesn't need to be sent.

Thats prolly exactly what happened. Carrying a 240+ pound unconscious person aint easy. No chance they took the time to sit him up and buckle him.

The message that needs to be sent is the truth.

What is "embarrassing" about the way he died?

Exactly why I asked my previous question, is it necessary to put that data point out there when he wasn't the one driving?

Lutz was very clearly a fine young man and nothing in this story changes that fact. We all make choices that can have serious consequences.

I'd like to think that lesson reinforced through a story like this one could serve as a warning to others. Without that BAC, maybe he puts on his seat belt or chooses not to ride with an intoxicated driver. Maybe today some kid reads the story and doesn't die tonight.
