Auburn, Mississippi State miss postseason

Really? You don't think those two even make the NIT?

Someone has to. Everyone but LSU has realistic tourney hopes, but 13/14 teams aren't going to make it to the postseason

Auburn and Mississippi State finished 7-11 and 6-12 in conference respectively. All of Auburn's conference wins were over LSU, Missouri, Mississippi State, or Alabama.

These teams definitely have the raw talent but that didn't translate into wins this year and with everyone in the conference improving I don't think it does next year, either.

This is what I'm afraid of.

Seriously? Maybe ESPN can save money by making some of these guys seasonal employees.

Arkansas 11-seed

fricking lol

We will be a 5 seed or better. I love how Arkansas gets no respect coming off a 26 win team and returning four starters and adding a bunch of top 100 recruits.

To be fair to Lunardi, I haven't seen Arkansas at all in any way too early preseason top 25. I've seen UK, UF, Bama, South Carolina, and even Texas A&M in various polls, but not Arkansas.

It appears that the national media is anticipating losing Hannahs and Kingsley being a bigger blow than Arkansas fans are expecting

I think the loss of Kingley will be the biggest piece to replace. The guy filled up the stat sheet every game.

It will depend if the freshman Gafford kid is as good as advertised.

Pfft, we could win 30 regular season and Loontardi would have us no better than a 10. Don't get me started on kenpom- I know he's supposedly great toward the end of the season but so could I when it's all said and done.

If State can't make the post season next year, it might not ever happen again.

I'll gladly get swept by Auburn if it means we make the tournament.

Maybe that's just a different perspective on things than what Auburn fans are used too.

I can see optimistically NIT #1 seed, probably a 2 or a 3 though with some quality wins here and there

So adding a top 7 recruit (currently projected to go in most mock draft's top 10), a top 30 player and the rest of a top 5 class, and ESPN's 2nd ranked transfer from last year improves us from a 4 seed in the NIT to a 2 or 3 seed in the NIT? I don't understand....

Oh I see.... You're delusional.

Most fans are like this but you also know that if the situation was reversed, some Bama fans would make a big deal about sweeping Auburn, the tournament bound team, much like LSU fans on beating the 2013 Auburn football team.

Regardless, I believe the roster improvements throughout the SEC has relatively tempered Auburn's expectations for next year, and that's not a good thing for Bruce on the recruiting trail.

Oh I'd say most fans are the latter and would rather be meh beat Alabama/Auburn than be successful and not do it. But most of our combined fans are idiots, so, it makes sense.

We have a lot of questions going into next season. Too many for me to buy us as a top seed right now. I think we'll have enough to be a top three seed though.
