Why you so ignorant?

When I graduated in 1990, LSU was ranked 12th in all-time win%.

After Saban's last season at LSU, 2004, the Tigers were ranked 16th in all-time win%.

After last season LSU was ranked 12th in all-time win%.

In 1990 LSU was 4th in SEC championships behind UA, UT and UGA.

After Saban LSU was 4th in SEC championships behind UA, UT and UGA.

From about 1936 to 1965, LSU had the second largest stadium in the SEC behind Tulane, from 1965-1970 it was the largest. In 1990, Tiger Stadium was the 4th largest stadium in the SEC, today it is 3rd.

LSU has been pretty consistent through their history. And through it all, Tiger Stadium has been consistently one of the best venues in the conference.

Honestly, frick you.

Go to a pro game or a fricking game at Texas and you'll see dead.

Tiger Stadium still kicks arse in big games.

The stands empty out because it is boring as hell. It's depressing watching these exciting offenses run up 70pts like Louisville, then watch our pathetic product on the field. I blame Les and Cam, not the fans. Give them a reason to stay and cheer.

People have talked about going to BR for a game for decades. Chill. I'm sorry Tuscaloosa and BDS have no History.

Second, the Orange Bowl in the 80s and early 90s was a much tougher venue for visiting teams than Baton Rouge has ever been.

It was only a tough venue because those Miami teams were so good - not because of the stadium atmosphere. Miami barely averaged 50,000 fans in NC seasons in the 80's. The average attendance (28,916) bottomed out in 1997 after 3 years of probation. LSU was still drawing 65,000-75,000 for conference games at the end of the Hallman era. I've been to plenty of games in both stadiums and Tiger Stadium is a much tougher crowd than any Orange Bowl crowd.

I used to go to the Orange Bowl as a kid to watch UM play. Those Miami teams created the environment more-so than the crowd itself.

It helped that they were in the Big East.

It is ridiculous and it started before Miles was even there. It is the ducking traffic. They need to stage the traffic. Taking 3-4 hours to get off campus is obscene

I'd like to see articles in national publications lauding Tiger Stadium as this great venue. LSU before Nick was no more relevant a program than the Colorados and Georgia Techs of the world. Arguably less so.

Les really does not have much to do with it. It is a trend all over college football. If you want the fans to stay, don't have as many televised games.

The Big East wasn't a football conference until 1991. Those 3 teams that won national championships in the 80's and the '91 team would have dominated any conference they were in. Notre Dame, FSU and Florida were annual rivals. They regularly scheduled strong teams in major conferences. They would go on the road to places like Ann Arbor, South Bend, Norman, OK, Morgantown WV, Little Rock, Pittsburgh, Madison WI, East Lansing, Provo, YT, Berkeley, CA, Happey Valley....They went into Tiger Stadium and stomped the shite out of LSU.

Hey, kid, I was at that game, were you?

LSU played those teams regularly in the 80s too - along with Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn and Georgia.

Oh yeah, throw in games against USC, Ohio State and Washington as well.

Miami never could hold up their schedule to the SEC schedule.

Miami also played home games against Cincinnati, Louisville, East Carolina, Maryland, V-Tech, BC, etc...

Yes, they were a good team, but their home record was padded a bit by their affiliation - or lack thereof. Hell, they lost at home to Mississippi State in the 80s.
