Talent evaluation is also knowing when to turn down the five star for the three star. In 2013 Bama turned down 5* Vonn Bell for 3* Eddie Jackson.

Yeah it definitely didn't go down that way, idc what kind of mess you heard from BOL.

I know for a fact Vonn could have committed to Bama on signing day and they would have taken him.

How do you "know for a fact" that Bama would've taken him on NSD? The only recruit we would've taken last minute that we didn't get would have been Tony Connor.

The reason that Bell gave for signing with tOSU? "To beat Bama in national championships" LINK Sounds like he's a little bitter that he waited too long and Saban took Jackson instead.

Do you not realize the clusterfrick situation Bama has at QB right now?

Do you know how many balls Malachi caught this season for JC? I saw three of his games and he maybe had 3 catches. I remember one where he didn't have one. Maybe it's a product of the offense he plays in?

Gee, did you happen to catch the part where JC runs a veer offense?

Coming from an LSU fan, I'm glad to have your expertise in identifying clusterfrick situations at qb.

No problem. Takes one to know one.

abellsujr I've mentioned this before in a completely different thread discussing a different subject

Jacob Coker, had he decided to attend LSU instead of Bama, would be percieved as LSU's starter at QB right now

He chose Bama because he grew up a Bama fan

His offer still stood until NSD. He was a 5 star recruit that Saban personally visited less than a couple months before signing day, IIRC. Kirby visited him a time or two as well. I was connected on the Bell recruitment.

He wasn't able to win the starting QB job from the crab and beaver burglar who ended up winning the Heisman Trophy. I don't think he would be able to beat out Brandon Harris who may win a Heisman Trophy if LF doesn't win three in a row.

Let's just wait and see. We don't know anything about Coker yet, nor have we seen much of Jennings. Harris is a true freshman. Both LSU and Bama are in a tough spot at the QB position IMO.
