Full decline. The only thing we had was Chavis and now he is at A&M. QB play cannot possibly improve. Team is a shell of its former self. Miles is still the coach. Have to run the gauntlet of Miss. St. - Ole Miss - Arkansas - and A&M. Impossible.
That is the official offseason summary of the SEC Rant when it comes to LSU with predictions of 4-8 to 7-5 at best being the norm for the past 8 months.
We are about to see exactly just how stupid this board really is.
Get ready.

That was usually trolls in response to threads from tigers proclaiming a 1 loss season.
Most think the defense will be very good, and the offense will be steady.

I think most folks on tRant predict LSU to win eight to ten games.
You just happen to be a mouthbreathing Rantard and only pay attention to things that immediately catch your attention.

Full decline.
So. LSU has been a great program over the last decade, but they are in the toughest division in college football, and one that has gotten seriously tougher the last couple seasons. State/Ole Miss being good isn't normal. That game was a rentawin on LSU's schedule for years. Now? Not so much.
LSU will finish the season 7-5. Even with a bowl win, that will be the lowest 2 win total for LSU since Nick Saban arrived. This will also be the first time since Nick Saban arrived that an LSU player graduated without winning an SEC Championship and playing for a National Championship.
It's not a full decline. A full decline would be the pre-Saban days when you were running from Daddy A&M because your head coach told your athletic director he couldn't build a winning program starting 0-1 every year.
LSU is coming off it's golden age as a football program. There's no shame in falling arse backwards in to Saban and riding his success for 6 or 7 years after. All good things must come to an end.

We already see how stupid you are. Your feelings get genuinely hurt because some trolls on an Internet message board don't think LSU will do well this year

You really need to get thicker skin. between this and your how does lsu win more than 6 games thread where you again whine about what sec rant posters say, it's pretty clear you don't have the chest for this place.

OP needs to indicate sarcasism sooner in posts. Most people take 3-seconds to read a thread.

Well... honestly there is lots of uncertainty about LSU.
- Will LSU have a contributing QB? Most fan assumptions seem to be that is a given, but it is far from a given.
- Will the OL be better than last year (average)despite losing two starters?
- Will the defensive front seven unit improve from "below average?" Are the DEs SEC good? Will the new defensive philosophy/coaching have a positive or negative impact?
- The DC did not have input into hiring the DL coach...so, will there be friction? Will it impact play on the field?
- Will linebacker play be improved from "below average?" Will OLBs be able to contain? I do hope fans realize there is more to playing middle linebacker than physical attributes.
There is a chance that all of these questions are answered "YES" in every game of the season... in which case LSU will contend.
If half of these questions are "NO," or half are "no" in any one game, LSU may finish middle of pack.
If most of these questions are "NO," for most of the games, LSU finishes at the bottom of the West.
What do I think? That is a lot of questions to all be answered "YES" all the time. So realistically I think LSU plays six nail-biting close conference games and splits them. 4-4 in conference would be an expected result. 5-3 would be a good result
Things look much more promising next year.
