"The best way to prevent your defense from getting beaten is keep Georgia's offense off the field."

this LSU offense is not your grandfather's LSU offense. seriously, these guys have played agressively. and, have the ability to match.

whether it works and they can be consistent for 4 quarters is another story.

or any other UGA peeps...

Thoughts on taking US 78 to Athens from ATL Saturday morning? I'll be attending the Braves game Friday night and that particular route looks like the best one coming from Turner Field...I though it would be easiest to simply get a hotel on that route.

I guess he was saying the fans don't concern him. Ours are at least loud, when they're there.

Under Miles, LSU is 50-7 in Tiger Stadium. And in SEC Regular Season Games 47-17, including in SEC Road Games 22-10.

Richt, by comparison, is 56-13 at home, but only 1-2 vs top ten teams in Sanford.

Depends on what time you leave. I actually live a mile off of 78, so on the rare occasions I don't stn in Athens on Friday, that's the route I take Saturday morning.

Going through lilburn/snellville/loganville will be kinda slow as you may hit some red lights, but if you're super early you'll probably get all greens. After you pass Maxie Price Chevy in loganville it's wide open all the way to Athens (btw, turn right onto 316. Then from there turn onto the loop in Athens. I can be more specific later). There is a little "town" (it's actually more like a few hundred yards) called Between where the speed limit drops about 20 mph. Just watch your speed when you're in little towns.

So I guess to answer your question...if you're leaving fairly late, do like others have suggested and maybe try another way like 85 (Idk, I've never gone that route so can't say for sure). If you get up with the sun and head out early, 78 will be fine, and is definitely the most direct.

You mean from ATL to ATH?
It's okay, just a lot of lights. Probably not much different than taking I20 to 138/10, imo.
I85 to 316 will be a mess. I would avoid.

This route is just a lot more out of the way, IMO. He can maybe drive a litttle faster, but not enough to be worth it. 78 is a direct shot.

Never been, but it's reputation is earned.
Sanford will not be dormant on Saturday, I'm pretty sure.

Thanks, chief. I plan on leaving ATL by 7 AM. Sounds like I should be good. If there was an area of ATL that would be best to avoid overnight, where would that be??

I'm not as familiar with Atlanta as some others, but midtown/buckhead/highlands are all good areas that you should look into.

Probably the less time you spend downtown the better.

Six of one...
I love the proximity of ATL and ATH - hate the drive, regardless of the route.

Ok 78 will be fine then. You'll get some traffic sure, but it won't be a standstill by any means. And like I said don't get discouraged early. After you come out of atlanta going east, you'll pass stone mountain and come back into "civilization" (like, not just exits and on ramps). You'll go through Stn.Mtn/lilburn, then snellville, then loganville and you'll have some traffic because you'll hit your share of traffic lights. But after the chevy dealership in Loganville you're good to go. Just slow down in Between.

This is not a typical LSU pound and ground offense, we score quickly. A shootout is likely. That could change however, Jeremy Hill or Gurly can make this happen. It will depend on if LSU or Georgia jumps out to an early lead. I'm hoping we turn Mettenberger loose for 4 quarters ala air Miles

Thanks, and I feel confident that none of our fans will steal a truck, kidnap a woman, and hit nine cars.
