Would make things a whole lot easier for LSU, but not a must win.

I hope the team doesn't take this attitude.....this is the first big game in the SEC for us, its on the road, and the nation is watching.....it fells like a pretty big game that we need to win.....I guess that is just me though.

Everyone has pretty much noted this. Miles doesn't pay attention to 'outside' voices but some of the players have publicly mentioned this and maybe he will listen to them. I hope so. Murray&Co. can score very quickly.

I think LSU goes to a more traditional lsU offense with run, run and more run similar to Auburn game. The best way to prevent your defense from getting beaten is keep Georgia's offense off the field. LSU will control the clock and Georgia can't stop the run. Lots of play action passing from LSU and LsU wins 42-21. Game is never in doubt.

I understand Miles wants to 'preserve a win'. But it's dangerous. It puts your defense on the field way too long, and the offense gets out of sync. Once the other team takes a lead, it's usually too late. If he does this against UGA, I really don't think LSU will win the game.

And also I think it affects the mentality of the team and causes the whole club to relax, notably the D.

Reasonable strategy, shoe could easily fit on the other foot.

Yall are underestimating the badness of his Georgia defense. Why pass if you can control the line of scrimmage with your OL and run at will. Play action pass and keep Georgia and Murray off the field most notably Gurley. If I am Georgia I want to get the ball first establish an early lead and hope LSU panics. If lsU controls the clock with the run and passes on first downs with play action they will beat Georgia by three touchdowns but lsU does not need to throw tha ball all over the field; you want long slow drives

Off-Topic:

How bad is traffic from Atlanta-Athens saturday morning? When should I leave Atlanta if I want to be in Athens for like 11?

Is finding a parking spot downtown Athens on Saturday morning going to be hard?

Any suggestions for best places to get in/out of near downtown. Im trying to meet my friends that are staying there.

TIA

Just hang out down at the bars for a few hours sulking after a tough defeat and enjoy the scenery.

It's really not about that. The LSU D has had focus lapses, where the other team goes down the field like a hot knife through butter, at least once every single game. Taking the foot off the gas isn't going to help so Coach Miles....stop it. (I'm sure he got this memo. )

Except I don't think your defense can stop LSU as much as I think LSU defense can win 30 percent of the battles. I don't think Georgia can win against the lsU offense 30 percent of their drives. Hey I hope GA wins as it helps Bama just like I am sure lsU hopes OM wins. I just right now don't see a team that can beat LSU unless Bama fixes their secondary issues and ATM can somehow outs ore them and pull a defensive gem out of their butt like they did against Bama last year.

this happened only on the final 2 drives of the game

Any suggestions to work with this? Is there paid parking downtown somewhere that will be available or is it all gone first thing sat morning?

Why this isn't an open thread to discuss a game. You upset I think they beat Georgia and badly. When has Georgia stopped a legitimate offense this year or last year really?

Did he? What did he say? Or do you have a link? Very curious as to what he said.

True. But I'm also thinking about other games too. There's a history of CLM going very conservative and trying to squeak out wins at the last possible second.

I'm watching post game press conference now.

They say it never rains ... it apparently was a very stiff dew...

It sounds like he simply expected to run the ball better when they went 'conservative'. Fair enough, all things considered.

It'll be a high scoring game for sure. Georgia's offense is legit and LSU is going to have a very difficult time slowing down Gurley. However, LSU's defense has a pulse, Georgia's doesn't. Eventually the LSU defense is going to have some answers, but if the LSU offense doesn't shoot themselves in the foot they should score at will. 41-30 LSU.
