. We painted over the powder blue helmets for the kickoff game against Texas Tech and they are gone for the year.

Such a WAOM thing to do.

The powder blue rocked.

Not saying it isn't possible....but I have a hard time calling our administration "cheap" when they're having to operate out of a budget that's $10 million a year short for two years.

Either way....we'll wear the Powder Blues again. It's not like we can't buy new ones at another point.

Perfect pants to wear when we play the team named after a confederate regiment.

Some have predicted that we are going with a "powder blue" jersey.

Sorry for image quality

uhhh wut? We didn't lose those games because of uniform confusion, we just sucked. I think kirby wanted to flip the mojo a little, had nothing to do with any kind of confusion. I really loved the idea and still think it's cool, but I was pretty tired of it after seeing us go 0-3 in it.

I wasn't saying it happened, I'm saying that is the reasoning for opposing it from those guys (at least it was with Saban).

Saban said it explicitly when Kiffin was at Tennessee and wanted to go color vs color in 2009. I just assumed Smart was on the same wavelength. Maybe not.

Absolutely. I remember being pissed a few years back that LSU screwed with the colors. Nothing better than seeing those two teams in those colors out on the field.

And it's the first sec home game for LSU.

Gold game...so about 30% of the crowd will wear gold.

Frick that. We wear red for LSU game. Team should not be wearing a speck of powder blue for this game.

cheap arse administration
the Univeristy Administration has little to no say in such a trivial thing and much less collective or individual concern.

My dad tells a story of y’all getting beat in Jackson maybe and at halftime came out in the other (red or blue) and coming back. I’ve asked him as an adult but he doesn’t remember.

I like the purple jerseys LSU almost never wears. But if wearing white at home is a tradition for conference games, well then don't mess with it too much. Tradition is much more important than color schemes.

This! Even though LSUs all whites are beautiful, they should wear them against a different team

I agree 100%. We should wear navy helmets, red jerseys, and gray pants for every game that we can. This whole journey into some fictional powder blue fantasy is getting old.

I think this happened a couple of times. If I am not mistaken, this happened in 85 or 87.

I agree. The powder blue is sissified.
